I reckon the game is better than what the trailers have shown....I only wish for one thing...them to add hundred and hundreds of unique alien looking vegetation...that with the how many variations it can make of one plant would keep me glued for year's. Just like they have already with the origin update...we need more of that shit...the first time I found an infested world or a bio luminescent one my jaw dropped...even a planet with weird invasive plants only found one like that...I knew they made a massive leap in the right direction....they could even add worlds locked to one side daylight and one side night and have completely different plants on each side.

I always kinda thought the updates would take the game more in this direction.. not what it has become. I mean, don't get me wrong, the current build of the game is lightyears beyond whatever it was 2 years algo, but it's still nothing compared to this. It's gone down a different path, taken a more nitty gritty realistic tone. I don't know, it's just not what I wanted from this game. For all the (obvious) hard work and passion they pour into this admittedly charming game (the fact that they're still even working at it alone is mind blowing, and deserves alot of credit and respect, and that I give them), but it will never be this special feeling to me. This was gonna be some psychadelic, vibrant, almost cartoonish Chris Fossian trip across the misterious yet inviting, almost nostalgically heart-warming galaxy, that could at times be ominous (in the most aesthetically pleasing way possible), but mostly therapeutic, calming, a feast for the eyes. It's become a great game, sure, but the one this trailer shows sadly isn't a thing anymore. I hope that one day, some other developer takes it upon themselves to atleast try to recreate the magic that these pre-release trailers were. Because I soncerely think that this game could have not just been decent, but a masterpiece. A 10/10 masterpiece that would reach even the level of games like Minecraft or Skyrim, that would be rememberred for generations to come. A messiah for videogames. I guess I'll have to keep on dreaming. But honestly I have an enormous respect for the team at Hellogames for not giving up, and still caring, i think they will go on to do amazing things.

Still come back here from time to time to remind myself of why i was looking forward to this game so much and what i thought it was going to be. So much mystery, adventure, and so much potential i feel has gone to waste, the look of the game was truly unique, the quick and seamless motion of everything from leaving the planet, making your way to another without the need of that ugly looking pulse engine (which might as well be a loading screen as you're just stuck in place while asteroids are popping up constantly and glitching through your ship) and landing on another planet going through the atmosphere so quick and smoothly! Being in space actually looked quite ominous, the planets both from ground looking up at the sky and being in space itself looked amazing, and automatically gave a feeling of the unknown. Amazing that the team carried on with free updates etc... but yeah the direction of the game went so far away from this and sadly i just cant get into it no matter how much i try.

Instead they completely changed the art direction and the graphics look so generic now. Like they're going for a more higher quality realistic look. Still not as impressive as what's shown here. The craft itself is smaller, it does not persist in atmosphere for very, neither does it enter or exit in a conventional way, lets say like your own spaceship does. Where as the craft shown in this trailer can be directly influenced by the world around it, attacked, shot down, boarded. Still a far cry away from whats possible now, and this trailer is nearly a decade old.

@@froginaboxVEVO None of the things added are like in the trailer. They added gigantic snakes but you don't see them rolling around like in the trailer, they just jump into the ground and out of it. Planetary physics are not really an issue for gameplay, the ships already follow a path to reach whatever you're aiming at. Added to the fact that all the animals and creatures just repeat themselves throughout the game. They add more creature models every update but the end is the same, they get used up very quickly because the only thing that happens with that is that they have their parts swapped on every new planet. Once you visit 15 planets, you've seen them all

What do you mean "infinity has to be true"? Infinity is a mathematical concept whereas, in practical applications, infinities are just extremely large numbers relative to the context. I just cant believe how theyve made a system that puts letters in such a beautiful order, a name that bends on the tongue perfectly, all created by a computer. Imagine if it was only random.. I still don't understand the reasoning behind the spaceship warfare. What is the story? They emphasize exploration, but then they keep showing ships blowing each other up and I'm left a little confused.

if it brings "free" aspect to the game I believe it will be up to a player to do something with all of those ships. DayZ for example, developer wanted players to work together and survive in the harsh environment but in the end people started killing each other (which is no necessarily a bad thing!) and that made the world more alive. Imagine DayZ in Singleplayer. What's there to do right? but because of the human aspect people have put THOUSANDS of hours into it. I believe the same will be here. Some people will become space pirates some won't that will give you something to shoot at in space.

The game is fun to play, and I'm not done playing. But I was actually hyped about the game from the trailer (I think everyone was). We don't need base building, just give us the game from the trailer: -The textures/filter -the bigger scale of most organisms (trees, aliens, plants. I have never really felt like walking through a forest) -the feeling of being able to do whatever you want because now the survival mode is making it too hard to actually EXPLORE - The better shapes of the spaceships, because the ships now look like flying boxes -LESS HIGH TECH BASES, MORE, DIFFERENT AND BIGGER RUINS with interesting treasures to find. - Life is too common in this game, for example: almost every planet has boring plants that look like plants you've seen before. I think there should be more gassy, frozen, hot, radio active planets where it's impossible for life to exist, so finally getting sightings of life would be amazing. -MULTIPLAYER/NPC WITH WHO YOU CAN FLY ACROSS THE GALAXY.

I don't understand why it had to go from this to whatever the end result was. The game looks so polished in these trailers. Like it's an AAA title. No wonder everyone was wondering why the game is delayed when they've shown it at E3 three times, and the game has looked as good every time. It really broke my heart to see this fade away. I honestly rather replay these trailers than play the game. Today I tried to play it but I go on these planets, from space they look like they have water but when I land there, the game gets very buggy first of all when I'm in the atmosphere, and second there is no water, the planet is really ugly, it's uglier than a grey rock because there's all kinds of random debris that doesn't look like it belongs there. I just don't understand, what these trailers are. Where did they get this footage. That's what I would like to know.

Well, they got flooded about the time this trailer was published, and lost some work and had to move to a new studio. Later, they got sued for using "superformula" that generated their game- planets, animals and all. That game existed at some point, but due to that, overhyping and pushed release[ ...cough... Sony... ] the game was not as good as people expected it to be at launch. But hey, it got 3 big updates already and full Multiplayer coming soon. Keep and eye or two on it)

Everybody is loving this game. This game is awesome. I'D love to have this game. it looks different than any games i originally discovered and played before. this game is the one of a kind.

I've heard the name of this game for some time now, but just decided to look into it today. It does not disappoint. I feel No Man's Sky is the game almost everyone has thought of making (or at least wanted to play), but Hello Games was the first to actually do it. And it's gorgeous to boot. My only real issue with what I've seen is how it can often look very procedural. This is super forgivable and to be expected, but just toning down animal/plant life density in some of the more chaotic areas would help immensely. It's easy to randomly fill a world with objects. Making it look like those objects weren't randomly placed is the hard part. But regardless, I'm super stoked for this game and can't wait to try it.

That's why everything in their universe has its place. If a planet has life, its probably at a certain distance from the star it is orbiting. If that planet lets say has red plants mainly, the animals have adjusted to the environment and it shows in their color. The liquid on the planet determines what color the atmosphere is. Everything is connected, so it definitely isn't random and we basically haven't seen anything yet. I can't wait to get near the center of the galaxy... Or see a space whale haha. Once I get the game. Damn it is so hard to wait for this

Seeing something like this happen one time? Yeah, could look nice depending on the effects, etc. But you wouldn't really want a horde of idiots whose only mission in this game would be to destroy as many star systems as they can. Sure, it's a big place, but there are many idiots.

But maybe... You need to place the weapon in a planet, it takes like 7 days to build it (7 real time days (?) ) And you need to defend the planet so no one's able to destroy it... Or something like that xD

It seems it WILL be possible to wipe out entire species and stuff. Not looking forward to that. There are enough trigger-happy gamers to reduce entire galaxies to wastelands within the first few weeks.

This looks nothing like the game I bought... In space astroids just appear in right in front of you as you travel. The draw distance is HORRIBLE in this game and really breaks immersion.

The transition from outer space to planet sky, and sky to ground happens to quick, and to smooth. It really needs to be more violent of sorts. I mean when you enter an atmosphere it should have a burn in of types, and shaking and such, it's really pretty violent when entering an atmosphere. Awesome game tho and I can not wait to play it, but just hope they continue to build on what they have, so we do not run out of things to do. Having a strong and fleshed out economy that players can effect along with having ever changing missions to complete would be very nice. Also some sort of multi player would be a nice addition.

It looks like those Tetrahedron space stations are a big part of the game. Besides appearing in almost every space shot in the videos, it is also the logo to the game itself. Perhaps like the Mass Relay's in Mass Effect, they are a technology left behind by an ancient race, and become the local hubs for each star system where you can dock, buy/sell and upgrade equipment and technology. But they are also probably the reason why you are motivated to head towards the centre of the galaxy - to find out who this ancient alien race is, and why they left all these stations floating all over the galaxy.

​The game's concept looks incredible as everybody says, but what I really want to know is how players can interact with these worlds. Is it only about exploration and looking at what you found? Will it be much more than that? Will there be crafting components and survival? Can you build infrastructure? Will there be a beneficiary reward system for discovery and conquering species/land? ​ ​I feel like there's much more to this game than we've already seen. The game probably won't be coming for at least 1-2 years, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Hey happy games, I hope you check your comments, because if you're making this online multiplayer, I have an idea for you! Formation mode: 4 players are flying together, and one (P1) sends a little ping. (Nearby friendlies only) asking for formation mode. Everyone else accepts, and their movement style changes. They turn with P1, and an AutoPilot tries to maintain their relative location. Then they can move relative to P1 (see Galaga), and it automatically breaks off if you go too far. If P1 dies/cannot fly, another P1 it's chosen. This way you can explore together!
