I have problems using the triangular and square tiles in the same structure, mostly with how to close off the roof I was in the middle of a build then i realised damn, theres a hole in the roof. They need to add roofs that work with the triangle tiles and the small squares

Yo AO, can you give me a hint on the light you use inside the top of each window seem? I’m new but have visited this base numerous times and tried peeking the camera up by the default light bars to see if I can figure it out. No light source I shrink down seems to give the same lighting.

There are a few basic principles. Choose an interesting location. Tell yourself a story about the location to inform your decisions. Always start building above ground, never flat on the ground. Choose a set of material types and stick to it. Start symmetrical, and then diverge from the symmetry. Experiment - try weird stuff. Don't be afraid to throw the whole thing away if you lose inspiration, or the build is not flowing. Thanks for watching.

Consider, pathways. Inner and outer pathways are a must to incorporate. One way in equals one way out, which keeps a site from developing past a few rooms. I just started on No Man's Sky. I think I know what I will be doing. In games that have a good, or even a half-decent, system, base building always distracts me from everything else. In Fallout 4, I completely lost sight of the main quest and constructed massive, ugly buildings out of junk. (Mods are useful there to expand the possibilities.) In Valheim, I used the cheats (and now the new customized difficulty settings) to turn off the fighting so that I could concentrate on gathering resources and building things. I see the same thing happening now with No Man's Sky. Hopefully, I will stumble onto a scenic but environmentally nasty world where I can start on my first real base (as opposed to the starter one on the random world from the tutorial). I like places that are aesthetically pleasing but also look like they want to kill you. I'm not going to look anything up online to try to find such a world; it's more fun to stumble onto things like that at random. Hopefully I can eventually come up with a base as half as good as the one in this video - it really shows that No Man's Sky has potential for builders like me.

The walls can be made 6-sided hexagons and 12-sided circles orienting the triangle and square floor pieces. Non-mod wire and cache builds can be achieved as well. Wires are useful to create hinges and scale-wires from which to rotate and size soft-locked objects like flooring and storage containers. Caching an object for snap-placement works similarly to copying a 'wire' ⛪

Double-height walls with half recessed roof makes for roof rails and 1.5 inner height. Top-level windows are designed for exactly this 📐

This base is amazing! One thing I dislike about NMS is i dont feel there is enough building things, stuff like Minecraft or Valheim while simple allow you to still do complex builds. But you still manage to make awesome bases that feel real even with the limitations! Is there any tips you could give for just builds in general? and how do you make those big open windows? All my walls only give small window slots
