that's absolutely false, the world is full of passionate developers. it's very rare though that your game both releases to an underwhelming reception _and_ makes enough money that you can work on it for free, for years. that's a unicorn situation, and they're absolute kings for doing it, but most developers never get that chance.

The best redemption arc in history of gaming. Any other big studo would abandon the game, but these guys didn't. They liked the game, it was their passion project, and they decided to redeem themselves. They literally aded over 30 *free* updates/content packs for any player to enjoy. Games like cod or destiny would make each one of them a $70 dlc, but they didn't. Huge respect guys, keep it up.

Its always so weird that they use originally a pretty unknown band 65daysofstatic as their soundtrack because they were one of the bands of my teen years well before the game came out. The song Debutante is the OG trailer song and that whole album its on is near perfect.

One of the few games that had the attention and anticipation of gamers. Broke their hearts, angered and disappointed us but not only regained our trust, but our love as well. No man's sky as it currently stands is beautiful, fun and bring a sort of calm I've never found in any other game. NMS just needed more time and they would have gotten it right from the start. They spent the entire lifespan of NMS trying to make it right, a labor of love to those still playing and any who come after. It's been said plenty of times, but this truly is the greatest comeback in gaming history, especially when it could have been so easy for them to just take the money and run. But they didn't.
