Thanks for the great tips. I don't know if this is something new in waypoint, but with regard to transferring items to/from your freighter. I've noticed that no matter where in the galaxy my freighter is from me, I can still transfer items both directions, but only in the freighter itself. To access the additional storage rooms the freighter does need to be in system with you. Still, with the now larger main cargo just in the freighter that's still very useful if you've gone through a portal for example and haven't yet called in your freighter, you still have access to it's cargo hold. But if you need to get what's in storage you'll have to call in your freighter.

I do like the revamped storage system too. It's 2nd nature to me to bring my freighter into any system I plan on spending some time in. I'll have to check out transferring from another system.

Great video , thank you for explaining stuff very well for beginners. on the stuff disappearing from the refiners - "i read that it will only happen if your command ship warps while stuff is in there " i guess well have to test it to make sure but its logical.

You're welcome. A good rule of thumb is to trust no refiner in the game enough to leave the area unless you're okay with the stuff in it potentially disappearing.

Im getting 3 to 3 frigate modules a dat currently from my frigate missions, I cant stand the abandoned ship slog it takes too long and is too creepy for me. I love your ginormous freighter garden mine is much smaller atm. I do have a fully kitted out comissary for my staff to relax and eat though. I love freighter base building its such fun. Thanks so much for this info.

That sounds cool, let me know if you ever post any footage of it. I do have a great derelict freighter than can be ran through in no time for a cargo bulkhead or tech upgrade. I think I made a vid for it. If I did I'll post it.

I never build huge or even big bases. I have the very basics. Just enough to make planet exploration and harvesting easier. I have been out of the game for a bit, but when I came back the thing that most excited me was having teleporters on freighters. That's what I always wanted. I always the same kind of game play idea to be possible. A space nomad with a mobile base. The only exception I have ever made is I usually take a nice planet or a interesting planet and use it to make a big farm. Just so I can have a large supply of the growables if I need them.

I want to do a playthrough with only a freighter base. You can grow plenty of stuff on the freighters now or you can just buy the resources you need to refine into the plants you want.

Great vid, liking your channel too thanks for the stuff you do! What I will say, it seems that putting the base tech into supercharged slots works a lot better than putting upgrade tech in there. Try it out with tech you can see stats on (such as a weapon where it shows dps), and yeah putting the actual tech (such as boltcaster or pulse engine itself) into supercharged gives a much bigger improvement

Great video. We needed an updated freighter video. I had something odd happen on my freighter yesterday. On my newest save. I placed a storage room and I can't find it on the freighter. I was still getting used to the new build mode for freighters and clicked build room but its literally not seen or able to be touched at all. I can still use it but no clue where it got placed. I could reset the whole freighter but I dont see a real reason to besides my ocd lol. I need to attempt to findout how I did it because its basically free space

Thanks a lot. Now that is strange. I've had rooms snap above and below where I was building. My guess would be that the room is there, it's just not in the level you intended it to be. Let me know if you solve the mystery.

Great summery. As I get all my nms info from KZbin, I have a couple questions I hope you can answer. What do you use to play nms on? (computer, playstation or xbox) I believe that freighter base building is going to be my favorite part of nms, but I have found that my xbox one is just not up to the task (falling through floors, bad draw distance in long hallways and now some hallways aren't lighting up until I get close to them! I have seen some very impressive freighter bases on KZbin so considering xbox series x upgrade as had read that I can transfer game save. While I like the new Waypoint update, it has made other aspects of nms hard on my xbox one.

I'm on the PS5. One thing that might help you is to wait a minute or two to allow the entire freighter base to load in before exploring. Freighter bases are cool. Hopefully you can get yours working.

Those are purchased in the Anomaly with Quicksilver. Tons of base parts are in there as well as other cool things like my armor and head.

Wasn't aware that there were freighter missions. I've been avoiding getting one because it didn't seem worthwhile, plus hoping to get an S class for free. I noticed you chatted briefly about the derelict ones and had a full stack of scanners. Is there a cheaper / easier way to obtain the scanners because I seem to only get about 3.5 to 4 million for the 5 million, I spend on the scanner. I really enjoy doing the derelicts but can't afford to always take that hit.

Unfortunately there is only one cheap option and that is duping then. You can get a free one once a week in the Anomaly. Helios will hand it out. Other than that you've gotta dig out the wallet.

What would you recommend? It's a little clunky at first but once I went into camera mode it got better. I can't tell you how annoyed I was on my first build when I looked at the floor and some didn't face the same way as the rest. This was after all the decorations etc were added.

@@thegamevault1970 I would like to see something like a possible interface station that would show something like a 2D view or something that let's you see the interior as a grid layout. I honestly believe it would let players have an easier time visualizing the interior layout.

Those can be found by doing Nexus missions and regular missions in the Space Stations. They're a bit on the rare side but they exist.
