Someone asked, "what do you do in this game?" I'll repost my answer here: There's a LOT. Short version: you explore unique and varied planets, explore space, trade, build bases, greenhouses, factories, race tracks, weird modern art, talk to aliens, learn languages, dig for artifacts, salvage and fossilized skeletons, acquire a space armada, send them on missions, fight space robots, pirates, and unnatural monstrosities, discover weird creatures, scan them, feed them, tame them, ride them, milk them (NOT joking), kill them and cook them, discover new recipes, let space Gordon Ramsey sample your cuisine and tell you how terrible it is (also NOT joking), upgrade your exosuit, multi-tool, starship, freighter and ground vehicles, accept varied missions from space stations, make techno music, find unusual discoveries in space, mine asteroids, scan all the flora, fauna and minerals on a planet for cash rewards, survive on harsh planets with firestorms, tornados, lightning storms, meteor strikes, gravity storms, sand worms, radiation, toxic spores, sub zero temperatures, and predatory animals. Explore huge mountain ranges, oceans, caves, deserts and forests with your jetpack, rover, Dark Knight-style motorbike, submarine or massive exo-mechanical armored suit, explore abandoned, dimly lit space freighters with alien infestations, follow the story arc, find hidden snippets of lore, or just explore.

@@ninjaunic0rn Star Citizen can't even fix the Hornet shields so don't bother making such a bold statement. Star Citizen is a long way from anything near NMS. You can't build bases or harvest materials to sell/reprocess for building materials. You can't fly to any different system as it only has 1 and a new one is still in development which would still total 2 systems and I'm kinda sure NMS has a lot more than that... There are no other lifeforms than you or the players. That means no aliens or animals. Has no real survival mechanic, lack of in depth gaming loops, overpriced ships to get people invest real money into the game and "pledge". Their game direction has changed so much in the past years that their true Identity as Star Citizen has become just a shadow of what was once dreamed off. Instead the focus lies on a Singleplayer Campaign game and feeding their hungry whales with lousy little tidbits of skins, tiny upgrades or even content no one litterally asked for. Prison system, loading/unloading of cargo, tedious mining mini game, ruined smuggling/drugtrafficking. I loved SC and the idea it originally had as one of the most promised Sci-Fi universe but instead of this wide open space with a plethora of ships it's just a small boxed in area with a number of ships you can afford as a regular player. No thanks. Time for CR show some color and give back to their pledgers instead of sucking everyone dry for a lot of theorycrafting and barely anything to show for
