I think the reason we all find the timeline of No Man’s Sky so appealing is that it’s literally the definition of a Hero’s Journey. Accepting the call to action, failing, getting back up, then going above and beyond. Adversity, hardships, hate, and criticism poured in, but they fought through it all to finally deliver us the great game that was promised way back in 2016.

@@shadowbanned3136 from what I have seen, SWBF2 has been "fixed" by several months ago and it got more playerbase before the last update of the game hits the deadline, also Anthem is now going for their 2.0 version, fixing everything that seems lacking in the first place. Sean Murray was never lying about what he really wanted to with the game. But hes a smart dude. He had to sell it a specific way to make that vision happen. Things don't come instantly especially from where he was coming from. Small beginnings but he had a grand dream for the game. Year after year we have seen it mold into exactly what he was saying in his interviews about the game way back when. He went through the mud and stuck it through. You really have to respect the guy.

@@coldscooter No Man's Sky, during the lead up to the 2016 launch, advertised itself as an exploration survival game. Sure, we can say Sean lied alot about aspects which should have been there at launch, but all those have already been added since the NEXT update, which was well over 2 years ago. Prior to that, they added base building, vehicles, freighters and a bunch more stuff that was never promised nor discussed prior to launch. And then the Beyond update came along and added more to that list of things that were never promised but came along anyway. TL:DR This game has been out of its "early access" phase since Beyond. Its now a full game that is being added to from time to time. These updates can now rightly be called "free".
