There's no way this is the last expedition. The last expedition is going to be huge and the rewards will be absolutely insane. Also the last expedition HAS to be 16. It just makes way too much sense if you know the lore.

i think omega in this case might be referring to the conclusion of the atlas story and the start of the void mother story

Hopefully this new feature lets us replay all expeditions. I switched from PS to PC and because of that I lost all my past expedition rewards.

being able to start expeditions from the anomaly is a very exciting thing to have, hopefully we can have a way to make and share custom expeditions before NMS calls it a day

perhaps omega wont be the complete end, but maybe the end of an era or the end of expeditions as we know it. perhaps they plan on overhauling the expedition system, or if we wanna get REALLY out there a potential universe reset

Hi, thanks for the info - I'm hoping it's Omega - Alpha (opposite way around to α+Ω) and this may be a new phase of expeditions. Or maybe they are releasing Light No Fire early & Omega is the first stage in a massive galactic centre warp introducing the Light No Fire alternate Universe (Basically like the mega Fortnite relaunch). Just spit-balling here - no actual idea what's going on. Omega is the 24th letter in the Greek alphabet & it's the 12th expedition - co-incidence (probably). Omega can also be the lower bound of time/effort to work out an equation.

There is actually a reference to Omega as well in the appearance modifier... Which seems to be another iteration that we never saw in the Anomaly. Without wanting to spoil it - in the expedition is talk about a new traveller entity... which would make sense it is the Omega iteration. So many speculation paths that can be traveled again. lol

I believe this is the way to go for every update. It would be good for them to also find a way to have testing done on Consoles. Because most issues happen there.

I think Omega means this is the end of the story arc that they've been doing over the last year. Remember, a lot of the Autophage alphabet is Greek, too. And as someone else has said, 16 has got to be the final expedition if they end there.

Half -way there: I want to use my regular save and progress, that an expedition are added as a (main) mission in Log. Of course you can start a brand new save and the Expedition mission will be in Log as 1st. Can also keep the Expedition terminal for those that want to start that way.

I doubt this is the end of expeditions. Given the fact that they've added the console to tge Anomaly, it moght just be the end of expeditions as we know them. We might be looking at the beginning of a new age where we can run any expedition whenever we want on any character.

I have to say that the last few Expeditions were kinda dry and grindy. Even the 12th one feels pretty repetitive. So an end to expeditions would not bother me at all. But Yes, I do believe the terminal should be used to allow access to previous expeditions for new players or for those that just like to do these things - they are actually great save starters.

@@Beeblebum I don't disagree, but I also don't think this is the end of them. This console is a major change to how we're going to experience them to begin with. The odds of me ever starting another file are non existent at this point. I have a dozen characters I can do these on now and I know I'm not alone, but, this change will give me a reason to revisit those old characters. In reality, if we get our way and we can start doing any expedition whenever we want, the only thing this is really the end for, is the FOMO content we all hate.

If you mean to understand whatever lore is included? Probably, as this feels a continuation of the story from the void mother... But honestly, the way story is written in NMS... bits and pieces - I wouldn't worry too much myself. If you are wondering about progress wise - then the Omega Expedition is an expedition - no need to have anything finished before, to be able to start it.

I was goner say maybe they are making all expedition's replayable. As theres a whole new terminal. So theres eva more expeditions in the future planned or old ones avaible. Why would they remodel the anomaly for 1 expedition?

It's not for just one expedition, it's for being able to start a new expedition in general whenever it becomes available on your primary save instead of having to start a brand new save.

Yeah, I would be frustrated as well when only having a Console. I am not sure If we can expect a different/updated version of the Expedition when it releases officially - So everyone "Kinda" starts from scratch. Cheers.

There was a Basebuilding bug, but a patch was released today. Just completed the expedition Live.. and no issues found so far.

After Star Citizen, I mean, how SMALL is everything else? Even a game with virtually endless worlds, I'd still rather have one world from the Stanton system. Its just on a whole other level entirely that game.

Hey, I love Star Citizen and the world it is creating. But No Mans Sky has its charm. It is definitely easier for me to jump into NMS for an hour than into SC... I hardly get out of port in an hour with SC. lol

@@Beeblebum That's what I love such ablut it. Of course NMS had its charm it overtook Elite Dangerous for my fave space game. Then SC did that to NMS, im sure in the next decade something will do the same to SC. But lately, SC has ruined everything for me. But yes, LONG sessions in SC are needed to accomplish anything at all
