Very cool. Loved the detail of the flashing blue arc as the train goes over the level crossing and the speed camera flash. It also explain why some of my DHL packages are a bit damaged when the truck brakes so hard 😎 And that tractor driver...didnt even stop before pulling out onto the main road, very prototypical 😁

As I wrote in another comment, acceleration and braking can be programmed individually for each vehicle. There are countless parameters to programme vehicles individually (lights, horn, brake lights, sound, etc.). But unfortunately, all this is a very expensive toy :-)

I love layouts that have moving traffic, it really brings everything up to the next level. Having static cars and trucks parked everywhere looks so cheesy now. 40 years ago when I was a kid I did this on my HO scale layout but I used slot cars. It wasn't near as cool as this stuff but it worked
@zacharygutshall84522 жыл бұрын

me too. the fun was trying to beat the train to the crossing or ramming the slot cars into the box cars and flat beds to derail them The HO batmobile was great for this

Terrific stuff... been wondering if i'd ever see vehicles 'move' on a scale rail setup, but can the vehicles move at more realistic speeds to the scale they represent...? Then all we'll need then is the little static people to walk!!!

The Faller Car System is technically impressive, but the dynamics of the vehicles are still extremely unrealistic. If I had a layout, I would prefer static vehicles over this. Yes, permanently static vehicles are unrealistic too, but at least don’t make the layout as ugly and brutal looking as the „racing“ trucks of the Faller Car System do.

The only reason why I just don't like the model train way or car system hobby is that smooth stopping and starting has never been done to a point I find acceptable. There seems to be no way to actually make a train or car start and stop with realistic smoothness. Or at least I could not find one single video about it. I am still hoping to find one.

Too fast and too much sudden braking, otherwise a good system.....
@pilentum3 жыл бұрын
That is observed correctly. Meanwhile, acceleration and braking can be programmed individually for each vehicle.
@smhorse3 жыл бұрын
The technology is ingenious, but it's not quite there yet with acceleration and braking distances. Hopefully in time to come there will be motors and drivetrains small enough to drive ordinary cars, not just lorries and buses.
@C21L013 жыл бұрын
smhorse There is already a system that allows modellers to run cars and even bikes and boats on a layout without needing motors and batteries for that matter to be hidden inside the vehicle. It's called Magnarail which runs entirely using tiny magnets and a pulley system embedded underneath the road surface of the layout. The big downside with Magnarail however is it cannot be programmed to stop vehicles at intersections, railway crossings, etc.
