Thanks mate, excellent video without all the usual annoying preamble. I'm replacing my Ring doorbell as they now want almost £50 a year subscription which is madness when you can buy one of these and manage your videos locally. These are about the same money in the UK I just got one for £119 on Amazon which is $151...👍

I bought one of these a month ago based on some of these KZbin reviews. Mistake. After 2 weeks the motion and radar detection decided it was only going to work sporadically...if at all. We tried everything to get it to work again with no luck. I'm not going to constantly go and reset it. Customer support? Forget it, non-existent. I tried contacting them twice and got zero response. I really thought this was going to be a great product but has been a total letdown. Buy something else.

It has 8 GB integrated in the base unit, but it cannot be upgraded or changed, there is no SD memory card slot. Strangely enough, the cheaper model beneath this one, the 2K camera, does have a memory card slot in it, but that camera cannot be connected to existing wiring, it only runs on the battery. It would be nice if the 5 MP base unit had an SD card slot, and it makes no sense that the 2k version has it and this one does not.

Any idea how I get a replacement rechargeable battery. It’s failed and I’m not having much luck . I think the manufacturer wants to sell you the entire unit and not make battery’s available…

How can you tell the battery level? How long does it take to charge?

The level is shown on the app and the battery takes a few hours to charge, but lasts for about 6 weeks or more depending upon settings

Question. I just installed my Aosu but noticed how the detection range is only 5 feet? The device doesn't start recording until someone is within the 5ft range. Is that all it can do or can you set to it detect further out? I've max my zone ranges and sensitivity. Nothing seems to trigger the alerts and records until within 5 ft. And ppl are already by the door when it starts recording

I have the same problem. A package came today and the camera was so that it started recording them while they were walking back to their car. They need to update their radar detection because this thing sucks so far.

If you ever have to switch wifi codes, you'll never get it to read the QR code needed from your phone to connect ever again. I'm frustrated with these cameras today after switching internet companies. The door bell 100% will not read the QR code generated by the AOSU app. Spent 2 hours in varying light conditions and angles of approach - no luck at all. Grrrrrrr.

This is not possible, you will have to ask the Nest to show the doorbell, there is a time loss of +- 6 seconds

what's the difference between v8s and v8p models?

V8S is 5 MP, can be connected to existing wiring so you do not have to depend on the battery alone, and is limited to the 8 GB of memory the base unit comes with. V8P is 2K, slightly lower resolution, CANNOT be connected to existing wiring, is battery only, but the base unit has an SD memory card slot so you can increase the memory beyond the 8 GB card that comes with the unit. If the 5 MP had an SD card slot, or the 2K was able to be hard-wired for power, it would make my own decision much easier. Right now, neither one has exactly what I want, so I will be waiting for their next versions to see if anything changes.

Be aware the product, Aosu wants to sell you the online subscription service, they purposely dumbed down the local memory service. Missing events is very common.
