Cerave lotion broke me out badly. I suppose my face doesn’t do good with something that is commercialized as “body and face” product. Really bummed me out bc it contains ceramide that supposed to be good and it is fairly affordable in my country if bought in big tube (I live outside of US EU). Now I’m in search to find a suitable moisturizer for me, so this video is perfect!

CeraVe has been a life changer for my acne prone skin. I learned of the brand from Dr. Dray and changed my cleanser and moisturizer to the brand and my skin is the best it’s been in a VERY LONG time. It's good to see that some with acne prone skin are pleased with Cerave. All the break out posts make me nervous to open my facial moisturizing lotion from them but I repeat to myself that it won't necessarily break me out. I do already enjoy their foaming cleanser.

Same, Mimi haha! It really helped my skin out a lot, changing to their cleanser and lotion. Like.... a lot. I went to visit my bf a few weeks back and had to use his sisters random face stuff for 10 days and I had the worst breakouts when I got back. Went back to Cerave and it got back to normal, I really struggle to find things that work. I genuinely can’t afford to drop big $$$ on stuff so the affordability is a huge factor. The fact that it’s not cruelty free is really disappointing. But I think a lot of the brands we tend to use aren’t behind the scenes (unless advertised otherwise) do what works best for you sista ♥️

@@TheMarkedGirl717 Honestly the only way to find out if it works for you is to try it. There are mixed reviews on everything because everyone’s skin is different. Plus sometimes people don’t give products enough time to work and go through the entire “purge” period and quit the product. I use their acne foaming cleanser and the lightweight spf 30 moisturizer. I also use Differin gel which also stopped my cystic acne so it’s been a combination of things that has calmed my skin. Also eating less dairy has helped as well although I LOVE my ice cream 🙂

True that, but still doesn’t mean you won’t react. Cerave is citrus based, and some of us also reacts badly to HA, which all their products unfortunately contains. Only Cerave product I can use is the hydration cleanser, still it doesn’t help my Rosacea as I’m sensitive to HA. Every other cleanser is too harsh or contains ingredients my sensitive and reactive skin hates: witch hazel, niacinamide, AHA/BHA etc.

I don't know about you. My skin reacts with the skincare line Strivectin. I first bought the neck cream. It started itching and my skin got red. Then I bought the eye cream. Because, of the reviews. I woke up with my eyes deformed. Super red and with a horrible rash. It's been a bad trip. Because, the reviews were phenomenal. How can you know that it is a specific ingredient? It also happened with an eye cream that the Coola brand sells. It brings in the jar the day and night cream. The day cream has SPF. First I put the day cream and it burned. Couple of days later I tried the night cream and it was the same. I returned it. If you're highly allergic. Don't buy those.

Cerave isnt my favorite, but it is one of the only affordable moisturizers safe for skin that gets fungal acne. The products listed in this video don't address that aspect and I think most of them are not fungal acne safe. I don't get the hate for CeraVe that I've been seeing on youtube recently. I can sense a defensive tone in your comment because it’s worked for you, but the truth of the matter is that people are beginning to switch over to cruelty free products because it’s the ethical thing to do. Yes not everyone can do that, yes it’s a trail and error process that people with a budget usually can’t go through, but animal cruelty is something that should not be supported. Don’t hate on the fact that human beings are finally seeing the damage done to the other creatures we share the planet with, it’s a small step to making the world a better place in comparison to a lot of animal/earth related things but it’s admirable that so many people are now choosing to get over products continuing to test on animals. I don’t think it has absolutely anything to do with its hype, but I can see why you think that because you have a love for the product.

But I wonder if people who are in this dance of cruelty free know that pharmaceutical companies test the drugs on animals. So don't they take medicines once they become sick? @glowson8369
@glowson8369 2 жыл бұрын
@@sweetange7553 this kind of logic is just idiotic. It lessens the amount of animals being tested on, it’s unnecessary for makeup. Don’t bring medicine into this because that’s a completely different topic. Animals do not need to be tested on for makeup, so why support the companies who do it when there are clearly many successful ones that don’t? The world can’t be fixed in one step buddy, slow and steady wins the race. But we all know the very selfish human race doesn’t care about anything but itself.

Don't forget the all the medicines you take today, including the covid vaccines. They all underwent animal testing. Feel free to skip them all. And don't forget all the animals and insects that are killed to cultivate the crops you eat everyday. Feel free to skip those meals too!

I love CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I don't use it on my face, though. But I get the 19 oz tub (and use it to refill my jar with the pump) and use it on my body. It doesn't burn on the areas of my body I shave and it is the only moisturizer that helps with my dry, cracked hands in the winter. Once I started using this (every day after my shower and at night on my hands before bed), I didn't have dry hands at all. Seems like the majority of your alternatives are really just for the face (given the size and price point). I'd be interested in some alternatives that are at a quantity and price for daily body use.

If he doesn't have sensitive skin, the niacinamide & zinc serum by the ordinary might be worth a try. I usually apply only a thin layer (i have combo skin and more dries me out). The vitamin b3 helps with oil regulation and post-inflammatory hiperpigmentation (the dark marks left behind by spots) and the zinc is good against inflammation. The ordinary is cruelty free and they label which of their products are vegan and which aren't. Many derms as well as cassandra also recommend products with salicylic acid for exfoliation. And it's super important to wear sunscreen on top (it helps with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation as well as the usual sun damage/burns and skin cancer risk). One thing I've found out for my skin personally is that i need to take hydrating (not moisturising!) seriously. If some creams are too rich for your son, maybe a hydrating serum under the sunscreen will do. Hope that helps

You know there's not actually any legal standard for companies to use the term "cruelty-free" and tons of loopholes for them to use the term even when they straight up use animal testing. For example "We don't use animal testing." (But they hire another company to do it) "This product is not tested on animals" (But the raw materials used were tested on them) "Cruelty-free" There's not a legal definition/standard of it, so companies can get away with using it. Some companies even use an "off brand" bunny

When my skin is irrtated, applying Cerave moisturizing cream sting my face really bad (after that I realize that Cerave moisturizer is not a soothing calming cream, it''s just a basic moisturizer with ceramides to make you skin thicker and softer) . But when my skin is not irritated anymore, Cerave really help strenghthen the damaged skin barrier and made my skin so soft and hydrate. I only apply really thin layer only at night so I don''t suffer from acne, but when I use both morning and night and apply thick layer, my face break out. So I think if we know to use Cerave cream in right way and in right time, it can help my damaged skin barrier

PLEASE READ: This might be complex but i hope people like this so that you can read it and hopefully make a video. QUESTION: Would you be able to make a dedicated video going through what would make up a great day and night routine, and what ingredients we should look for in different steps? I have come to this point where I love my cleanser and moisturizer which both have AHA and BHA in them, and I want to add maybe a toner, or serum.. What ingredients should I look for in those? I feel so confused if I should have these acids in all my skincare steps, or just in one or two... and if so which? So if you could tell us a daily routine with different optional steps and include yes and no daytime ingredients, and then do the same with a nighttime routine I would greatly appreciate it. Brands create lines and have every product contain the same acids, and I find it hard to believe a 7 step system needs acids in every product.. But maybe I'm wrong? I would love to know if I should be looking for a serum with AHA/BHA to match my other two products, or if I should be looking for a more moisturizing/plumping one.. I'm so overwhelmed and if this made any sense I hope you can respond and maybe make a video! I can't be alone feeling this way. ALSO i know everyone's skin is different but if you could tell us what steps in a skincare routine are necessary for specific age ranges that would be so helpful. I'm over here wondering if I need to buy some super highly reviewed nighttime retinol product and I'm only 23.. I am so lost but I just want good skin long-term. I watch all your videos and know good products but I am getting to the point where there is so much information that I can't figure out if a good product is always a good product based on ingredients.. Or if it can be a bad product if you already have a different product with the same ingredients in your routine. I'm starting to feel like if I was to buy a serum with AHA and BHA it would be the equivalent of buying an eye cream and moisturizer from the same line.

It of course depends on your skin. My morning regimen includes Good Molecules Niacinimide toner, TO Argeriline, Timeless CoQ10, Timeless Vitamin C (10% as 20 is too strong for me), I use PTR 21 peptide serum on my neck in the morning, my moisturizer (pyunkul) and finally Korean PA ++++ SPF 50. I spread everything to my neck. I may just mix Vit c or PTR into the moisturizer. I also use CereVe PM lotion - depends on the weather Night: I switch around. Purito rice essence, Timeless Matrixyl Syn6 (you can also try Mat 3000), TO Niacinimide (either by itself, or mixed with tranxsmamic acid, or my moisturizer, PTR 21 Peptide serum (sometimes every other night and may use alone or mix in my moisturizer), Missha Time Revolution (stopped for a few months and am now noticing more wrinkles), moisturizer (May mix in Vit C). I may also mix TO granactive retinoid in my moisture I have also created my own mix: Copper peptide (GLUK?), both timeless peptides, niacinimide. This will also gone all over my eyelids so I put 😢his all over my eyes first, then mix in transamic acid. This is to avoid all of these many serums piling up. I’m am trying Cerave night cream (day 4); I have a flat pimple but I don’t know if this was from the bakuciol oil which I mixed in with the cream a 2 nights ago. I exfoliate 1-2x/wk with TO AHA/BHA, use their glycolic acid toner x3 nights a week. Cleansers 😮are LaRoche Posay blue gel at night, peach and Lilly in the morning. My skin looks good for 59. Now working on my body!

Usually mix 2 or 3 of them, massage into my face, neck, chest and follow with a moisturizer (i do like cereve and la Roche) the oils are all natual and you can grab them from a natural grocery store for really inexpensive. I use them on my face, nails, hair, and body (also coconut but not on face). Ive spent $300 on anti-aging moisturizers and this works better than anything ive used.

@@monicaduncan7109 I really wanted to try the ceremedx moisturizer, but I'm afraid to because of everything you just mentioned. Also, why does every vegan brand have to add fragrance, essential oils and plant extracts? It's so annoying.

I feel like I’m the only one who has this issue with cerave: when I put it onto damp skin, it dries up weirdly before becoming moisturizing. Idk if that’s me misinterpreting stickiness, but it wasn’t a faulty product bc it’s happened with two bottles. Love how it makes my skin feel afterwards tho!

I have very sensitive skin and cerave burns. My go to is aveeno eczema therapy daily moisturizing cream. I use it on my face as my daily moisturizer. It has ceramides in it and is so incredible to put on. It feels soothing and nice.

For me, the Aveeno fragrance free line is a billion times better on my skin than CeraVe. I wish Aveeno was cruelty free. Can you do a video on cruelty free oat products? Thanks!

Mid-30s and been using Ceramedx cream for the past maybe 6 months. It's amazing. I have acne-prone skin that is dehydrated from years of using the wrong acne products in my early 20s. This cream really helped restore my skin.

Cerave cream in the big tub is the only thing my partner likes to put on his eczema. I try to only use cruelty free products tho, we'll get some of these dupes to try.

I highly recommend Ceramedx. I have super dry skin that flakes (used to have eczema as well) and Ceramedx actually moisturised my skin more than Cerave so much so that I was able to start tretinoin. Def suggest trying that one out first as its most similar and the price is great. Its a bit more than cerave but I find it lasts longer as it is a little thicker.

I’ve tried many others in the past 16 yrs. Nothing works like my Cerave lotion. And I don’t wanna put perfume on my skin. You wouldn’t either, eczema or not.. once you have a fragrance allergy. You can use a product for years & it not affect you & still end up developing one. Mine came from an olay cleanser that I didn’t even use daily.

My young daughter's (9 and 12)and I use cerave foaming facial cleaner or the renewing SA cleaner. It works very well for us. But I would love to go cruelty free what would be a budget friendly option. Thank you so much I have loved watching your videos and learning.

Cere ve changed their Cera Ve pm formula recently. Some people don’t find it as moisturizing. I use the Purito moisture sea water cream. I purchase it from Yesstyle when I order my sunscreen.
