I thank you for sharing your story with us, I live in a gated community as well in West Palm Beach FL and I sometimes take it for granted that we are safe here, but I know I can't take things for granted. Unfortunately because we live in a world where so many people don't have or know the love of God and as such are prone to the promoting of the devil. God will bless you my friend for your kind heart, I know it's hard now, I can't even begin to imagine but God is stronger than any obstacle we can face. Thank you, Lynn, for being an inspiration to this 67-year-old woman. I have collected (hoarded) things since I left home at 18. Fifteen years ago, I moved three states away to live with my only child and her family, at her request. For the first 5 years, I did fairly well in keeping my room clean, then things rapidly deteriorated when I got hurt on the job, lost my job, retired early and did not fully recover from my back surgery. My health has slowly gone down to where I walk with a cane and sometimes a walker and I can't hold out to do much physical work due to my many chronic medical conditions. Then the flood came, and we lost everything thing and stayed in the shelter for three months until the house was made livable again. Four feet of water is very destructive. We went into debt trying to replace everything and I refused to throw out anything that I brought into my bedroom. As you can imagine, it began looking like a hoarder's house very quickly. My daughter has tried to help me go through things over the years, but it didn't help. I only had a path from my bed to the door and a small area on my bed that I could fit into because of the amount of stuff I had. I was scrolling through KZbin three days ago and came across a video of yours. I don't know why I watched it, but I am so glad that I did. Starting this morning, I have started cleaning my room. I've washed a load of clothes that are drying now, and I know when I can reach the rest of the room, they'll be a lot more. I washed all the dishes that have accumulated in my room. I paid someone to remove the heater from my room and place it in the garage. I actually have a bigger path to walk, and my bed is a little less cluttered. I have given out of steam and am hurting pretty bad, so I had to stop. I won't do anymore today as I'm still kind of overwhelmed as I still have a lot to do. It will take me weeks to finish but I am determined to do this. Thank you again. I am so sorry about your car; I saw the picture. Hope things work out. I like how you explain the reasons why you do the things you do about getting rid of things. Simple but direct. Have a wonderful day!

Hi Lynn. I'm so sorry to hear about the theft. Sometimes, homeowners insurance will cover things stolen from your vehicles while they're parked at your home. It depends on your policy, but it's something to look into. Best of luck!

Oh my goodness that’s a nightmare. It would be wonderful if they could find who took it and hold them accountable and make them pay for all repairs. I’m so sorry this has happened to you. When we built the house we live in now I told my husband I 100% want a garage to park my car in, not a storage room. So we built a large garage and park in it every night and it gives me the peace I need. I pray you get the peace you need and everything works out to your benefit❤

I know how you feel. The violation never goes away. About 43 years ago, I was 20 and still living with my parents when an intruder broke into our home. He awoke me by climbing on top of me in my bed. Thank God i awoke and it startled him. He escaped before I could get my parents awoke. Back then we didn’t have air conditioning and I was sleeping with an open window. Since then, I ALWAYS pay attention to my surroundings and cannot leave anything unlocked. The fear never leaves!! I will be praying for your healing.

I am older and in the 90's there was a TLC show called clean sweep. This show helped me immensely. To this day I try to stay relatively clutter free. What this means to me now more than 30 years later. I try to buy only what I need, something comes in something goes out. Do I get stuck and forget sometimes? yes. But living in a clutter free home really is freeing and less stressful it's much easier to clean an uncluttered home. I love watching cleaning and organizing. Great job. So sorry about all you are going through right now. There were seasons of my life like this hard life lessons. This to shall pass and things will get better.

I found that giving kids a space boundary for keeping things helps. For instance, if you have a bookcase you only keep the amount of books that can fit. It is completely up to them what is kept.

Sorry about your car, Lynn. I’m 75 yrs young and I had the worst week when this weather went crazy cold. I spent the first night in darkness due to a power outage. The next day I spent at a friends house because they had power. After two days without electricity, the power finally came back on. Only to find out I didn’t have any heat. Spent another day in the house without heat overnight but had a neighbor call a heating guy he knew who came right out. Come to find out had a blown fuse and the thermostat had to be replaced, due to the power outage. A day after that happened we had a water main break through the night. I woke up at 6:45 am and flushed the toilet to gurgling sounds. I saw a car outside with flashing lights on it and it was the water department. Happy to say everything is back to normal! I Taught my child from 3 up if your done don’t want it any more then we can give it to salvation Army where other children can find it where they never could afford it ELSEWHERE.❤ I give them a bag a they put it in the bag and I even have a box by the door AND THOUGH the months they can put it in there as well as me.SO MUCH COMES IN THE HOME FROM SO MANY HOLIDAYS.

I just have to tell you that I think it is so wonderful to see how you interact with the kids while you're working so hard at cleaning their room. In so many videos I just see kids ignored because the adult is so focused at what they are doing. You held them, talked with them, paid attention to their faces when you were getting rid of things and they weren't sure they wanted to lose them. It's just beautiful how you give them so much attention.

He says He takes the good and bad and makes it work for our good, so stay encouraged even though it does not feel good at the moment. Life is crazy and we just never know what is around the corner. Every time I feel like I’m getting on top of things financially as s with other things, something happens to make it all fall apart. It is so stressful and upsetting but it also forces us to find gratitude in the smaller things. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I just wanted to say you handled the situation a lot better I probably would have. It is a pain when you have to deal with credit card companies, banks, drivers licenses,and what else was taken from you. This too shall pass and it will make you more aware of your surroundings . Hi, my daughter just had most of their tools stolen from their shed. They broke into her locked car & rummaged through it. Luckily there were no keys around. All this whilst one son was asleep. One was in the shower & my daughter was checking her animals on the other side of the shed. My grandson saw them & went to get his mum. I'm glad he didn't confront them as they were armed with knives. My heart goes out to you.

I'm so, so sorry about your car! And purse. I've never had either stolen, but a couple of times I THOUGHT I'd lost my purse, and the feelings of panic and loss of privacy were very scary. I live in an area that is pretty affluent. A friend of mine had her purse stolen as she was loading groceries into her car in the nearby Costco parking lot. She was distracted by someone asking for directions and another took her purse. Luckily she was not hurt but it was quite an ordeal. Lynn please stay safe. What you were doing out there was scary but thank goodness your ok. If you haven’t already, change all your locks and if you can also car locks. I hope you can get a home security system with cameras if you don’t already have one. It might not prevent anything but might help deter crime.

I went through that when I was in my twenties. We had the car for about a year and it was totaled because of a brake lock problem. Several years later it had a recall. After that we always get gap insurance. We also don’t purchase any vehicle models that haven’t been around for at least five years.

But my in-laws had their car stolen and the had to eat a lot of money cause like you the thieves was never found neither was their vehicle so they had to pay it off cause the bank still wants their money even though they didn’t have their vehicle. It was awful. They took everything that was inside it. So I’m truly sorry cause I know what your going through. I truly hope your prayers are answered and you and your family are in my prayers.

How did they get the vehicle? Did the keyfob get left in the car? My nephew and wife's truck and Tahoe were unlocked, with the key fobs in there, wallets, MacBook, gun and misc. stuff. Why would anyone leave their cars unlocked???

We lock as we come in and as we go out…we always lock our home and cars and are very watchful. Criminal minds are always watching for us to slip up…. Oh yeah, I also lock my remote after I lock my car whenever I get out AND when I go into my house, it emits a long distance where criminals can capture the info on their computer and then take my car. Yep, it happened to my neighbor down the street from us.🤦🏻‍♀️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. I also do not have any identifying paperwork in my car either! The car paperwork, etc. I have had 3 friends who lost their cars in hijacking’s at gas stations🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 So sorry you had to go through this!!

Oh Lynn, pease change all house locks, also, I’d you had keys on key fobs to another car…change those locks also!! Report your identity stolen to the 3 credit companies, put on a fraud alert, identity stolen also! My neighbor and I both have had this happen….every year, check your info to make sure it’s not getting changed on you with those companies…. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

I can only imagine what it feel s like to have it stolen. am so sorry. Our current car is the only one that I've had gap insurance on. Check with your neighbors to see if they have security cameras that may have caught the thieves. Probably neighborhood kids or their friends. They'll be responsible for any damage. It is such a violation of your security. Not to mention the problem of replacing everything in your billfold and your husband's wallet. I hope all you need to pay is the deductible for your insurance. I would've cried my eyes out, too. So sorry about your computer. When it rains, it pours. It seems you can't catch a break.
