As someone who literally just discovered your channel this evening, and has now binged approximately ten of your videos in a row, I have got to say: you have got to be one of the kindest, most empathetic, honest, and well-spoken KZbin personalities I’ve ever seen. I love me some snark and shade, but there’s something very refreshing about the way you deliver criticism even in your comedic videos. You always manage to temper your criticisms with empathy and a morally unambiguous sort of humor - I think the key is that I have never once seen you attack or berate a person/creator/company on a personal level, but instead you make in-depth, well-reasoned comments on the specific problematic or dangerous behaviors those people/creators/companies are exhibiting. You don’t make fun of people - you just honestly try to teach them. And while, as I said, I love me some good, old-fashioned snark, there’s just something so incredibly lovely, and genuine, and refreshing about your approach. Basically, all that is to say I’ll definitely be watching your channel from now on. As someone who has always been VERY lazy about my own skin, you have made me want to actually start using a skincare routine. Thank you, both for the entertainment, and for the genuinely informative content!

T BORI sameeee!!! I had an allergic reaction in store when one of their employees tested a body massage bar on me and my skin turned red/itchy and broke out in hives in front of him. I told the employee my skin is burning and feels really itchy I think I’m allergic to something in this, and he straight out said that’s impossible . I was shocked. Once you remove even one person from your PR list for giving honest feedback - (And not even about the product itself), you lose ALL credibility. How can anyone trust ANY positive reviews of your product, or for that matter, trust the people providing them, when they are so scared to say otherwise. This is why people have trust issues about influencers and sponsorships. Thank you so much for doing this honest video, sharing your experience, and using your platform to demonstrate integrity.

@@aisle99fleurs okay so my skin is very dry so I use a lot of the ordinary products because they are cheap and effective. I used the youth to the people cleanser that is spinach + kale then the Caffeine solution for under eyes, the Hyluronic acid and niacinamide all by the ordinary then I apply this vitamin C serum by tree of life, and then 100% plant derived squalane and then chemical sunscreen. All of these in the AM and in PM I add retinol and lactic acid to the mix. All of these helped get rid of my acne and over improve my skin’s brightness, moisture and made my skin look SOOO good. I also do face masks, I use the peeling solution or salysilic mask by the ordinary! All of which are products I was introduced to by Hyram. I only do masks once a week and I’m separate days. I try not too do it twice a week because the masks are strong and not recommended to do a lot. I usually plan what day of the week I’ll do masks

I wish there was more information on this topic, because i think its important to buy skincare that not only treat customers right, but also their employees. From my own personal experience, and from others in the industry, its certainly a taboo topic, and frowned upon to speak up if a brand is mistreating their employees.

Hyram! It’s 5am and I’m sitting here breastfeeding a newborn baby, while catching up on KZbin videos. 🤗 I haven’t watched anything in a couple months! This is an interesting topic in the influencer industry-how much should we support a brand? It’s really easy to become aligned with specific brands and products, even when we’re not trying to, because our viewers start to see a trend in our content. The problem with that is, all brands are businesses and it’s hard to guarantee what they’ll do. I love that you’re taking a strong stance. We need more content creators with integrity. And I’m sad to hear you’ve had these experiences with DE. They’re a brand that I tend use a lot also (and PS, I’ve never been sponsored by them either), but it’s a bummer to hear about their customer service. With regards to how they treat influencers, I’m always torn on that. Yes, we’ve been critical in their growth, but the influencer industry has turned into a whole other beast and I’ve seen the damage that influencers can cause a brand too. We don’t know what experiences they’ve had with us! There’s a middle ground for sure and I hope someone from the DE team will reach out to you to at least discuss since you’ve been such a supporter. 🤗

Drunk Elephant has been one of the most over hyped, over priced brand since it came out. It is not worth the amount of money that they charge when you can get the same for WAY less. According to a Cosmetology Dermatologist and Dermatologist, anything over $25 for a product is overpriced and you are just paying for name. The main ingredients in skin care are all the same and can only be shuffled around so much. I listened to Dr.Dray and she saved me so much money and I got the results I needed with out spending ridiculous amounts of money and the hype of the beauty industry, and the fact that beauty gurus don't know jack sh!+ about skincare and cause more harm then good with their sponsorship.

LethalRed yes! Dr. Dray opened my eyes so much about all of the marketing schemes of pricey items and ingredients that either harmed or did nothing for your skin.

This video is just another examples of why I love you’ you do care about us! Mot only have you made my skin very very much better but you care about us all even those who give you hate! You are a very good person despite all you have been through and it’s refreshing to me given all I go through that you are here to help me! I really appreciate this and all your tips and ease of buying products because I am legally bling and partially deaf and have super bad balance right now so the links are helpful and you never try to push all the expensive products on us! Yes they are recommendations sometimes but if your saving for that one and limiting on others it helps! Thank you so much!

No. Its in America where the motto for stores originated that "the customer is always right". Actually Drunk Elephant are acting more like a Communist company. Companies in communist countries act like this. I used to live in a newly post communist country. When you walked into a store, everyone treated you like they were doing you a favor by letting you shop. This behavior by Drunk Elephant is very communist mentality. Where the customer has no rights and is lucky to have the opportunity to buy anything.

I also want to mention that drunk elephant made a fake account and posted as a "customer" bashing another brand on their instagram page while insisting "drunk elephant is better because xyz"... Like so bad dude. So bad. I had such a bad taste in my mouth after that.

Seems like they’re doing that a lot right now if I had to guess. Commenters posting “you guys have the best customer service!” all of a sudden seem kinda telling.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Don’t feel guilty. You believed in a brand without knowing the depth of their disrespect. In making this video you have maintained your own high level of respect to your subscribers by being transparent with all of this information and putting your hand up to say “I didn’t know, now I do, this is what you need to know”. You did so well with this video.

Nothing that ever comes out from your mouth is time-wasting. I really LOVE listening to you talk because they're just so informative and I feel like I gain a lot of new informations from you. Thank you for this disclosure, Hyram. You must be feeling sad since it was your favourite brand, but I hope you can find another brand that fits you best! Will keep supporting you. 💞

I realise I'm a bit late to the party but; Yaas Hunny 👏🏽 I'm relatively new to both skin care and your channel so I know nothing of DE only heard of them in passing, but the level of importance you put on ethical/respectful brands is all I need to hear. You're amazing, never let anyone scare you into lowering your standards 💜
