If you turn the roll of tape around with your finger through the center hole you will get the tape on tighter. NTP fittings only need 3.5 - 4 wraps. Too much tape is as bad as not enough. We tape tens of thousands of fittings every year

Those fancy nozzles will not work on a gravity tank for anyone thinking about it. You need the silver nozzle he had on to begin with. No worries if you’re adding them to a motorized pump. Thanks for the video it’s always good to see different fueling solutions.

if you flip over the roll of teflon tape, you get better control of the tape and can get better tension on the tape to pull it into the threads easier.

A rattling bucket of feed works fine when you have only a few cows on small acreage, but looks like you're expanding bigly. We trained the cow herd to come to the vehicle horn. They'd run a half mile to get those alfalfa cubes first.

Josh you might consider getting some copper sulfate, and maybe give a local vet a call about getting a bottle or two of calcium to keep on hand for them momma's. 2 reasons, milk fever is a potential issue for calving heifers. The copper sulfate for hoove injuries with all the new fencing and work you've done. They could easily pick up a staple or piece of wire. I know that's not the point of this video but maybe something to look into before a potential vet bill. Neither of those things should affect them being organic but don't take my word on that.

I have the same pump that you’ve got and one thing I’ve found really handy is instead of having to raise your hood to hook up your clamps to run your pump wire up a connector like you would use for your trailer lights. Your truck should have 12v power and a ground in your trailer plug once wired it makes it so much easier for fueling up equipment in a hurry.

I hope your problem with your fuel system is solved and you are able to get some work completed on your farm. This has been a warm Winter this year all over the country and I live in Arkansas and we are affected also by this humid Winter with no snow or ice.
@Badweather12
@Badweather12 4 жыл бұрын
In aviation a safe practice is always keeping fuel tanks full in planes. This minimizes chances of humidity forming condensation and getting water in your tanks. Not sure if this could be a factor as well. I also have a drag tank and try to keep it full. I've never had any water issues..... knock on wood.

Big improvement on the fuel delivery system. Money well spent. When I was at the store I went round and round with people who had used regular teflon tape on fittings where gasoline was used. Megatape is an excellent product. The additional expense will be absorbed by the absence of contamination in the fuel system. Ideally - when using an adjustable wrench always pull with the fixed side.

Yes, I agree. Somewhere in the past I read that diesel vehicles do not have galvanizing (zinc) inside their fuel tanks. The fuel oil will leach the zinc from a plated tank. As for ULSD, I have no information.

Josh I don’t know if you ever emptied and totally washed out your tank, but it might not be a bad idea. I know from experience you have to watch where you get your fuel. If their tank is low when you buy fuel you might be getting trash from their tank. I’ve been thru this myself. One thing about it though. You are better off with all the upgrades you did to your tank etc. Enjoyed the video. 👍👍👍❤️

You applied enough teflon tape to choke a horse. A couple of wraps is sufficient, not 6-10 wraps. Maybe you fuel problems is from excessive teflon tape peeling off in the fittings when tightening things down, and plugging the fuel system on your tractors.

Josh my guess is that unless you have an actual leak from that old hose.. then you shouldn't have water in your fuel.. that fuel is off road diesel which has a high tendency to create a lot of condensate in your tank.. that the formation of water.. i have worked in oil refinery's for 23 years and all storage tanks must be water drawn periodically to mitigate the water issue! Your water filter should work for that small fuel tank.. hope this recent upgrade to your tank will solve the problem. BTW. with that old hose could be checked easy for any collapsed part of the hose which is common sometimes just run a fish tape through the hose but that will only tell you of an obstruction in the hose! One other idea to see if you pumping water with your fuel is to simply pump a small amount of fuel into a clear glass jar you recycle from your kitchen waste stream. Let the fuel set for 10 min. and look at the very bottom of jar to see if there is water, the fuel will float on top of water! Best wishes with the water in fuel problem! I would also check the fuel from where you buy it keep the glass jar with that truck when you go to get more fuel.. dispense some fuel into the jar let it settle 10 min. and check the jar.

I have a 275 gallon tank that Southern States comes to fill up for my farm diesal. The fuel is easily gravity fed to my equipment. I never have problems with dirt or water in my fuel. I use the same filter you have pictured in your video. My tank is under the roof of my shed. Those fuel nozzles are cheap, worthless and prevent gravity fed fuel. I made my nozzle out of a fuel swivel, all copper fittings, and a fuel ball valve. I stopped having problems with the nozzle when I went that route. Beware of some of the cheap hoses that some of these tractor supply places sell. I've had them separate (brand new) on the inside and restrict flow.
