Well, an automatic one would make a boatload of noise and interrupt the otherwise peaceful audio, hence the manual. I can tell by how he uses it, though, that he uses it often, or at least often enough to really have the technique down.

@@quellarpammler6469 Huh... I meant to reply to a different comment. :o Well, since I'm here instead, yes, an automatic one makes a lot of whirring noise. It's not deafening, but noisy enough. We've got two manual can openers, the scissor-like kind that you twist the handle on, but they're absolute garbage. I have a leatherman multi-tool with a legitimate manual can opener on it that I use in my room for canned meats when I don't want to wake the whole house at any odd hour of the night. 😁
