In this speech David cites the Maori life expectancy of only 40 years in 1840. He is using racist rhetoric to justify colonial land theft by suggesting Maori live longer now thanks to having their land stolen. What David deliberately omits is that life expectancy in Victorian England was also 40. He a racist liar and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near children either.

“Equality” is a straw man argument. Would we deny a child with learning difficulties extra resources because that’s unequal or special. I have heard about mining. That is great for our economy but not in the peoples pockets. We have had oil as far back as 1876. For NZ national security stop buying from the middle east and south east asia. Produce our own oil. If we reduced prices at the pump then that would be a huge impact on families giving them more money in their pocket immediately.

He was vilified for his borrowing for these projects but he left us assets which were cashed up by Roger Douglas... - the sell everything King. These projects created a massive amount of work and we produced some fine steel. Muldoon's dream was to make us self supporting. I didn't appreciate what he was doing at the time and he was ridiculed and endlessly vilified by the left for all he did ... now I think he was on the right track. Borrowing to produce and build assets is acceptable whereas the reckless borrowing of Labour to squander on nonsense whims of minority groups is another... like whales singing to Kauri trees and multiple equally insane examples. The problem with lowering capital requirements for banks is they would rather be lazy and lend it out as housing mortgages than lend to businesses, especially small businesses. So only ends up increasing house prices chasing existing stock (without resource management act reform)
