I can't complain I literally just found out they're giving me "Sleepy Hollow" and "Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm" on 4K in September, I never even thought Phantasm would ever be a possible thing and yet here I am still in shock I have it pre-ordered. 🙂

It's a shame how much old movies aren't cared about, by many. From the studios, like Disney, or Warner Bros., to the Streaming Market. All except for us collectors, who commit ourselves to preserving the long history of movies, and entertainment. Especially considering the long impactful history, and importance of movies, it has on our culture.

Hu Greg I find this to be a difference in how generations understand film History. One of my nieces in her early 20,s commented why do i have so much Physical Media Older Movies, Tv shows and Graphic Novels when there are Streaming services . I explained a lot of collection would never see the light of day for example when I last had Netflix There Classic section was very Token at Best. On Bootlegging as I have stated recently as an Australian i can only see myself increasing to get around having to take Streaming Services. Regards Trevor

Hey Trevor it definitely is a generation difference. The new generation grew up with streaming and content, we grew up with video stores and old movies so we appreciate them more. Bootlegging looks to be the best way to get older movies now and it stinks what Disney is doing to you all in Australia.

It's crazy! Stephen Spielberg seemed to care about classic films enough to go before David Zaslav at WB to save Turner Classic Movies, but aside from that it's still crazy mainly just consumers are into classic movies!

@@FanZceneVids Cheers mate, I don't do any streaming, can't ever see me getting into paying for something I'd never own Greg. You're so right about physical media and if everyone would skip "paying streaming services" we'd certainly see a big demand for dvd, blu-Ray 4k. Personally I like to buy dvds then make betamax and vhs for my own personal enjoyment from them.

@@wmelliott3802Interestingly, I have a shelf where I keep a selection of my VHS tapes. All series. It runs from Star Trek, Star Wars, Back to the Future, Rocky to Indiana Jones. I keep them in my workshop where I have a 9” CRT and VHS/DVD combo player on my work bench for playing background movies while I work.

I agree Greg Consumers care about old movies and because these streaming services won't put out a real release of their movies and TV shows People say physical media is dying NOT even close physical media will live on forever I see daily bluray and 4k dvd videos that should tell you something I live near Japan and the country is know as the mecca of physical media I plan to visit the country one of these days

“No one cares about old movies except consumers.” In other words, the only people who should, do: Your customers. We create the demand. Studios need to create th supply...if they want to make profit from their products. When I go hunting bootlegs for movies/TV series without an official release, I call it a booty call.

I have the same sentiment I haven't gone out of my way to get a bootleg very happy to watch vhs or dvd but more and more movies not coming to physical media long oop and available digitally I have no qualms about grabbing by other means.

Also by the same token, I don't need 100,000s of movies at my fingertips, not really a lot on streaming I want to see. Yes I will rent digitally to test a movie that interest me, so I don't blind buy to often, besides most new streaming entertainment don't get physical releases. Streaming as is now, is honestly a poor business model. Once the strikes in Hollywood work out, streaming will be vastly different and could be worse or could be better. Still great reasons to buy physical media.

Since there’s not much that’s good in movies now, I find myself going backwards. Just watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid recently, and was better than most movies today.

This is why I wonder if the sells of older movies are doing better than newer movies. I'm with you been finding more older movies that are way better than modern ones. Butch and Sundance is an awesome flick.

Hi FanZcene Sadly Yes because Older Movies like from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s are no longer interesting for the Mainstream Audience Special People form GEN Z 🤔 I understand when People wanna watch New Movies but you will miss a lot of good Entertainment from past Decades just because it's not Political Corect nowadays that doesn't mean it's a Bad Movie. You just need to learn that those Movies are always a Product of his Time and not more ☝ Only the Collectors and True Movie Lovers of Physical Media gonna buy it and watch it. I think they care. They care to cut you from the Good Old Stuff, because they'd have to compete with that. Second reason is, old stuff expires copyright. On the other hand I blame customers for never revising their catalogue. Like seriously, someone really prefers Night of the Living Dead b&W over the Savini remake? There's literaly no way aside snobism.
