Doing better indeed in the past few months, first few vids didn't even have his real voice or soundscape. Guess he's learning from our comments and some other good narrators, like Agro Squirrel and NetNarrator who have been doing HFY/SciFi for longer. This story wasn't bad either today, lot more consistent than some stuff he read in the past. I'll keep watching. 👍

I very much appreciate the delicate nature in which the Lillim people are portrayed in the artwork. The fragile delicate way that their physical bodies are portrayed aligns with and supports the verbal description in the storyline. Nicely done. And I enjoyed the story.

@@davidtherwhanger6795 the best human communications in the world of this story could simply still have a much shorter range than what was needed. The original plan could've been a month-long recon mission where they'd be out of range for 3 weeks.

Good narration as usual. The story, while very space opera -esk, could use a little polish. I liked the aliens very much and the narrator really did a good job bringing them to life, but I found the individual characters to be a little flat and the dialog a touch cliche. Plus there was a few plot holes that could be plugged like wouldn't doing all that ecological damage also make the planet undesirable to the inhabitants? Why didn't the shuttles get shot down before they reached the carrier? How did the friendly aliens get on the carrier? Why didn't the hostiles just bomb the planet? Why was a starship captain leading the ground defense instead of commanding his ship? Doesn't he have specialists for that? Marines? Security chief? Master-at-Arms? A boson with big knuckles and a bigger wrench? In spite of the story needing a little shining up, I still found this entertaining and I look forward to your next effort.

@christopherbrown9188

@@nocx4592 The first WFT was when they were 1 ship fighting several enemy ships in orbit and got the enemy "disorganized." It never said if they destroyed all of the ships or the enemy ships retreated. It's unlikely that they retreated since the Orion disabled several in the first few minutes. Then they landed the whole battle ship on the planet which is stupid because that makes it an easy target, especially if there were still enemy ships in orbit or any that could jump in at any moment. They have shuttles because they used them to board the carrier ship later. Then, sure why not, lets wreck the ecosystems of the entire planet to "save" it. It seems like they just set off extinction level events just for funzies. Then they set up protective shield batteries around the planet to "protect" the Lillim but then had them scatter through the forests. I do kind of get this if they were using the shields to lure the enemy into trapped areas & the Lillim would be be able to hide much better in the forests... but it's not like the enemy couldn't tell where the villages were anyway. Then the boarding of the carrier... if a shuttle could breach it that easily, just insert a nuke or antimatter warhead instead. Less climatic but bigger boom. If the point was to gain more firepower by taking the ship, they have a nanite AI virus hijacking bomb they could have just jammed it in the first major system they came across instead of the bridge. Computer core would probably be a better choice. I agree that I was confused for a second on how the Lillim got on the ship, but they did still have their small ships in orbit, they could have just followed the humans in. Thankfully they didn't use the elder to raid the ship and left him on planet to coordinate the ground assault, unlike the Orion's bridge crew that does the direct assault leaving the B team or whomever to captain the ship. Lastly... they didn't call for any reinforcements! I do really like Starbound's narration better than most of the others. It's no fault of his.
