Black locust has a wonderful party trick which we exploit in this video giving some of the most amazing woodturning you will see this year. We turn the bowl using a UV light and the effect is stunning.

I love black locust, they grow fast with good rot resistance, bees love them, they make some nice acacia honey, and the wood grain is beautiful.

I love Robinia/ Black locust and it is my favourite wood to turn especially as I was given a whole tree with numerous burrs.
