It was not postponed, I think Diwali was still celebrated but not on parliament hill. The thing I do not understand is how could Pierre Poilievre have cancelled it, he does not have that power, but Trudeau would.

I would like to tell you that Poilievre is worse than Trudeau in some ways. Trudeau has lot of Khalistanis in his cliqué but Poilievre is no different. Infact a lot of Sikh vote is swinging towards him and his MP for Finance and Deputy Party leader are both Pro-Khalistani Sikhs. He has not done any different on this matter than Trudeau. UK is probably the only country in the anglosphere where there are powerful Sikh MPs who stay away from Khalistan bullshit. In Canada this is impossible, if you want to rally Sikh votes. Sure you can get them by being a good politician who works on important things but Canadian politicians are the same rotten lot you see just about anywhere else

@@sukantpanigrahi76 Took some looking but I found it. For the event to be held on Parlement hill it has to be sponsored, the gentleman who sponsored it for years passed away. The person who took on the responsibility sent an email 12 days before the event saying it was not happening, he had no right so do that. One of Trudeaus people took it on, so it will happen but not sure when.

Its a question of convenience really. There are Khalistani separatists/extremists in the US and UK as well. They don't let this affect ties with India (for the most part) as both countries are invested in us and vice versa. India and Canada however are not that invested in each other. So for Trudeau who is in the political doldrums, it is easier to condone and even tacitly support Khalistaanis. However as the old saying goes, "play stupid games and win stupid prizes", this will surely bite the west (mostly Canada) back one day. They did not learn their lesson with the mujahideen in Afghanistan and it seems they havent learned their lessons with the Khalistaanis as well

Likewise, there has been no commitment from past or current governments to recognize the events of Oct-Nov 1984 as a Sikh genocide. Neither the government nor the mainstream media shows any real willingness to address Sikh concerns. Khalistani terror predates 1984. The killing spree under Bhindranwale continued for a while. They hoarded arms and ammunitions in the golden temple, the most sacred Sikh temple. Assault on Golden Temple by the Operation Blue Star indeed was traumatic for any Sikh, but the less being talked about was its desecration by Bhindranwale who converted it into an ammunition depot and used it as a safe haven for his criminal followers. Mrs Gandhi’s killing was blessed by some Sikh priests , an incitement that caused widespread riots and killing of hapless Sikhs for a while. The Operation Blue Star and later Delhi riots gave more excuses to the Khalistani thugs to extend their reign of terror for another decade. Let them make as many excuses, these are criminals funded by the vested interests outside of India. Period.
