on the g54b 2.6L, the chain is a bit loose, about 1/2" or so, right side only, seen from the front of the engine, is there a way to adjust it to make it tight ?

had the same problem with 84 Montero. i found a couple of remanufactured diaghragm valves ads in Amazon, or ebay. i ordered a, supposedly, new valve from Australia. it was about $40. it worked. i also found a brand new Mikuni carburator for a 2.0 engine for these types of mitsybishi, mazda, dodge vehicles of. around the same year, in case anybody needs one. i only needed the piston and screen of one of the 3, or 4, selenoid valves on these carbs. i do not know why someone would remove this items on tge mixture control solenoid valve on the montero i Bought. im sure your existing carburator has these tiny parts so that you can just swap them, like i did. so i got running fine, i just have a little hesitation when acelarating from a closed throttle, abd sometimes it stalls on me. i have to back off and accelerate more gently from a full stop. any ideas? must be a bit of an adjustment somewhere in the carb. i was taking care of another task, replacing belts, hoses and waterpump, but obe of the 2, out of 5, bolts that pass through the timing chain housing, broke off at the tip that threads into the block!!!!! why did they degined it that way!!! i do not want to disassemble most of the engine, it was just supposed to be a simple water pump replacement!!!!! i already broke off the tip of the extractor with no way of getting that piece of hard metal out of there!!!! any tips??

That sounds like a bad starter man. If you get a lit up dash and all the electronics work, like radio, lights, etc, then its for sure your starter.
@alankatterheinrich86602 жыл бұрын
Mine does this even with a new starter. I think its the main lead (wire) going to the starter itself. The copper wire is probably corroded somewhere and not wanting to carry the amps or load needed to engage the solenoid.

I got a 88 ram 50 need ideas on how to get to the fuel pump on a 2.0 i found it but I can’t get to it I probably need to take stuff off but what
@wolffangalchemist6 жыл бұрын
The mechanical fule pump on the g63b motor on the right side can be removed by reaching under the intake manifold and pulling it from under it. Had to do this not long ago my self and didnt want to remove all the extra stuff. It is a tight space to pull it through and slide the new one in, but it will go. and remeber where your fule lines are hooked in.

I had my Mikuni carburetors for 81 Ram50 rebuilt by a company called Carburetors of Texas in Grand Prairie about 20 yrs ago. They did an awesome job. I don't think they sell parts but can point you in the right direction. They're now called Carburetors & Fuel Injectors of Texas.

The only place I could find parts was a salvage yard off of an old or wrecked one. Good luck !

Hi Tillman4261. I did what you said and mechanically it works perfect without the secondary valve, but I still have no power. Do I have to do something to allow it to get more gas?? this is driving me crazy. Any suggestions?
@TillMan42615 жыл бұрын
The carburetors on these trucks aren't great most people upgrade to the walbro carb and have no issues. That would be my only suggestion.
@maxre96264 жыл бұрын
@@TillMan4261 Weber carb, not Walbro, that's a fuel pump brand. The weber 32/36 34/36(if you have a 2.6L) or 38/38 work well and can be purchased from reputable weber dealers like redline or pierce manifolds. (there are some fakes out there).

Is this why my 88 ram 50 keep wanting to die on me? I just bought this teuck n almost everytime I drive it it wants to die...people told me to check fuelnpump, fuel filter n float in carb..help, I'm poor n this truck is killing me
@frankynwebb47953 жыл бұрын
Did you ever figure out why the car kept dying I have a Dodge Ram 87 50 it dies every time I go past 25-30 Mi per hour I checked the fuel filter okay locate the fuel pump I changed my coil pack my wires am I air filters just don't know what can make it turn off while driving
@kellienunya3 жыл бұрын
@@frankynwebb4795 no but I cleaned air filter, found a vacuum leak and plugged it and it does it less but if I drive it enough that it warms up to temp then try to stop for just a few minutes, when I go again it often dies or almost dies but comes back?! I have new fuel filter
@claytanic6662 жыл бұрын
@@kellienunya mine does the same thing if I pull it out of gear to fast. To me the carb is a pain in the ass to adjust, but I managed to mess with the decelerator screw and adjusted the idle up a little bit it does it a lot less. But if I warm it up and then drive it does awesome. If I’m going somewhere quick and have to shut it off and a few minutes later try and start it again it’s a pain to start, but when it does start it doesn’t want to stay running. I have to keep it alive until it warms up again
