Your hair looks amazing! Anthony Dickey doesn’t recommend that we use co-wash products. He stresses we co-wash with conditioner. He’s not a fan of co-wash products. He always says that a cowash “is not something that you buy, it is something that you do.” That said, your hair is really nice.

Thank you so much for information. Initially I was using cowash but I found out it can be harmful to use it regularly. I switched to using a conditioner instead. Right now I’m not using the method but I have curated a regiment for my hair.

I kept scratching my head trying to figure out why I ever stopped using his method. At point I know I was told air drying would damage my hair. Smh 🤦🏾‍♀️. This will not be my last time trying this method.

Thanks for the shoutout😊 I love when we can all be inspired by each other (as I mentioned elsewhere, ALove4Me inspired me initially!) I think no stylers are particularly suited to the Dickey method, as you don't have to worry about not trying to mess up your set (and using gels to preserve it) if you're going to go ahead and cowash the next day anyway! 😃 There's so much freedom in just letting our curls do what they want to do!

I've been trying the AD method for 3 months, and my curls are so defined after the *rinse out* conditioner that I wonder 💡 "What if I let it dry like this without adding anything else?" 🤔 I consider "leave in" conditioner a "product," but thanks to your video, I'm going to give this a try!

I was the same way when I realized my curls were popping during the shampoo part. Please let me know how your hair turns out. Also, unfortunately my hair is dehydrated so I have to use a leave in. If your hair is healthy and hydrated please feel free to exclude the leave in conditioner.

@@SimplyTamz Hi! This didn't work for me. I used the leave in and my curls were defined but they couldn't hold the definition. In less than 12 hours my curls blended together to form a cotton ball afro, which wasn't my goal. I found a video that said skip the leave in and just use gel. This worked MUCH better for me! The leave in was fighting the gel. I cowashed and used Crul Daze Glossy Shine Gel. This cut prep time in half and the curls have survived during the rain, with a hood on, and overnight in a scarf. Going on day 3!

@@MK-hh1vo that’s really great! I’m glad you tweaked it to your preference. I will mention to be careful with had holding gels. I know you didn’t mention what type of gel you used. Some hard holding gels can be drying on the hair. Dryness can equal to brittleness which can equate to breakage.

@@SimplyTamz I did mention Curl Daze Glossy Shine Gel. It doesn't specify the hold strength, but it contains something called Kukui oil that my hair really likes. Thanks for the inspiration. I'm going to try a day where I put absolutely nothing on my hair post rinse out conditioner. I'll update you!

Awesome video! I’ve followed BGC for 2 years now. No complaints but I like washing my hair frequently and the Innersence and Trepadora start adding up. All I think is…lemme keep this wash n go another day so I’m not wasting product. BGC got me scared to buy drugstore products. I want to try this method. Are you completely air drying when the weather gets cold?

When it’s cold I’ll make sure to dry my roots to prevent myself from getting sick. It’s okay to try to new products. You may find something less expensive that works great for your hair. I use to be scared when I was following the method to the T to try anything other than Innersense, AG, UFD, and Trepadora. Now I’m slowly but surely finding new products that my hair loves. Plus my hair fell out with Innersense sadly.

Thank you so much for joining the fam. Honestly since finding out my hair was dehydrated I started deep conditioning, steaming, using protein, and stopped the use of all Innersense products. I think all of those factors plus the Anthony Dickey method is the game changer. I tackled the dehydrated at multiple levels.

@@thetruequeen6747 I think k curly hair comes in many textures in one single head. Some people have a predominant texture and some people do not. I have several textures ranging all throughout the type 4 category.
