What needs to change with retirement? Those working manual labor, should be permitted to retire at 55. This should be with full benefits. Wearing your body out, compared to running your mouth for a living, are two very different things.

RCA (Root cause) would determine that the only reason SS is even a burden directly is due to tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations over 30 years, thus permitting a if-then designed legislation around permitting tax thresholds above a certain income or wealth holdings. Doing this would ideally both fund basic programs while eating away at the deficit.
