42:20 It's worth noting, generally, that you CAN cast Beseech without Bargain to just tutor for Necro in this spot. I don't necessarily think it's good there (since you have to burn your Ritual and they'd just take it with Duress next turn), but it would've been worth considering in that particular situation, since that line dodges Bauble

That's just not how Magic works. There are costs to Street Wraith and it's not actually like running a 56 card deck. I'm sure there are articles on it that you could read.

​@@kevinbotts1168most mtg players are generally of the opinion that running cards purely for deck thinning is bad due to the relatively minor increases in consistency it gives you, which isn't as impactful as playing other cards. Being a Yu-Gi-Oh player, I am more sympathetic towards more deck thinners than none. However, Yu-Gi-Oh has so many cards with meaningful impact that you no longer have the room to play cards that only deck thin while keeping to the deck limit of 40. Mtg has a similar issue.

I think the main problem with street wraith in this deck particularly is that it’s an unknown for your mulligans. Since this deck leans so heavily on mulling to a castable necro, you have to actually have the different pieces (mana sources + necro + protection if needed) in your opening hand. Looking at a street wraith in your opener with this deck gives you nothing since it will immediately turn into some other random card in your deck. I hope that makes sense 😅

I like the synergy of unmask making chrome mox better and being good pre and post necro trigger. It does seem like the deck is too fragile in games 2 and 3. Let me say I generally think transformative sideboards are bad but they do work in some situations. A creature juke ie some sort of red based initiative or broadside, rabbleman package, sheoldred or maybe a small turn one empty the warrens could get there when opponents are mulling for interaction to necro and most likely won’t have creature removal in vs you.

I love unique combo decks; however, even with the improvements you made, this deck is just to high risk. There is to much you just lose to, and when a combo deck loses to itself....that is a huge hole that needs to be filled. Maybe add something to gain life to draw more cards. Feast of Sanity maybe? Black card that can act as life gain and/or secondary win condition. Maybe cut the Wild Cantor and a Summoner's Pact for a couple Feast of Sanity? There may be something better than Feast since playing a pact negates any benefit Feast may provide, which is essentially a second chance, unless you had some way of discarding as many cards as you wanted.

@TheEPICStorm I didn't mean my suggestion to be for consistency, more of a backup plan. Instead of just losing because you fizzled, Feast could buy you that precious extra turn. It isnt just life gain, it also reduces your opponents life by the same amount. You can easily jump 9-10 life then reload on your next turn and do it again, winning the game. Just a thought, not really my style of play, I just like seeing a combo deck that uses the whole deck, not just a few cards.

The question on this deck is going to be always "how often do you present turn 1 or turn 2 with 1 piece of disruption?" I think I'd cut Wild Cantor, 1 Valakut Awakening for 2 Serum Powder (and I think there's a case for cutting, say, a Summoner's pact for a 3rd powder). If we're going in on the deck, we want to basically have a machine that produces Necrodominance triggers on turn 1 or turn 2 with disruption *as hard as is humanly possible*. Everything that is fiddly or conditional needs to go to allow for a stable turn 1.5 attempt. I don't know the numbers--but I bet you with some powders, this isn't much worse than, say, Oops All Spells, which is, to be clear, actually pretty high praise.

@ that’s fair-but I am also of the potentially wrong opinion that almost anything I can do to increase the number of successful “put a trigger on the stack” instances at a cost of being able to combo once the trigger happens is worth the price-and awakening is sort of bad at the “putting a trigger on the stack” part of the problem. As an aside: with 4 beseech, the fail rate post trigger isn’t really that bad-it exists, but eh, we are in for *that* experience once the deck is registered.
