I can tell you that I'm against DEI (not on paper, because I'm all for diversity, but in how it's implemented in the real world). Sometimes people hear this and only know the surface level definition of DEI, but when you look at how it has been used to hurt minorities, and how it's been used to bring racism into the workplace more so than it has been in the past, that's where I judge it to be a bad process, and this isn't just one voice, the supreme court ruled against DEI in a 9 to 0 vote and lawsuits are starting to get filed. The Genius of DEI is that when people stand up and say "hey, this is also Rasim" it sounds like you're pro keeping minorities out of the workplace. Which is also an abhorrent view.

Hey, good video as usual. It's a good format for getting updates on the game. However, by constantly seeing news and future updates, I feel like it's selling a bit of a dream. Let me explain: many mechanics that players suggest, Thomas seems to indicate are in development. Adding to that the portable version plus the fact that it's a small studio, I'm afraid they might lose their way. I love the game, but the issue is the FPS. It's impossible for me to play "properly" at a constant 60 FPS. I'm more around 40, with drops to 20-30 even with a very good setup. I'm glad to hear them speak about all the future updates, but I hope they're not just selling a dream, and from my point of view, it would be preferable to focus on frame rates rather than, for example, a portable version of the game, which usually seems to be about making "a lot of money easily"... It wouldn't be the first time someone sells a lot of promises and ends up delivering nothing. I hope I'm wrong...

Very weird you're hovering around 40 fps. Last hotfixes/update drastically improved this. Getting stable 75 fps (refresh rate of my monitor) at 1440p using a 3060Ti. Maaany people are experiencing way smoother gameplay.

Post pandemic, sales, player retention etc has fallen off from gaming. Probably because everyone stopped being quarantined at home and went back to work, that and generally speaking the gaming industry has taken a bit of a nose dive honestly, just like how Marvel/Disney took a nose dive with their movies. Same ideals being pushed, etc and players just aren't having it, which I am 110% fine with as we're the paying customers and we shouldn't be forced fed games full of ideals we don't agree with instead of just them making an enjoyable game, which many AAA companies are failing at...horribly, and I'm all for it. Look at the interview with the Microsoft president..lmao, that just sums it all up. A non gamer running a gaming company with no understanding of what gamers want. That aside, like your on point commentary and presentation and being honest with yourself and gaming. Cheers man.

I'm not a software engineer, but I write a ton of serverless and infrastructure code for all the popular cloud platforms. Every time a new game that allows for private servers launches, I spend the weekend Terraforming modules and deploying servers for me and my friends. Do you know if Wicked will EVER allow us to host our own private servers? Would love a Linux based installer.

In regards to mage gameplay: Please give each element its own identity Be mindful, I am spitballing here: Fire: upfront burst damage, Cooldown system (or just highest focus costs) Big Bang damage but very costly, so if you hit shit, that stuff gets evaporated, if you miss, that´s your punishment and you have to work to get your focus back to cast again Ice: average damage, average/high cost, will be your CC element. Lightning: low damage, low cost/spammable: DPS element, has a stackable debuff called electrocution slows enemies and reduces their lightning resistance for more consistent damage Plague: Damage over time, rather than what we have now. So maybe in 1.0 or further we´ll have items or maybe stats that increases the tick rate of plague damage/sec and it will have different interactions with different elements. I wanna play a Plague DoT mage, like DoTa 2´s Witch Doctor´s Maledict

About parry, we are on the same page here, I'm trying to parry as much as I can but in this game it's much easier to dodge than parry, especiallybecauseyou can dodge roll behind enemy to do fatality :) . I'm parrying mostly on smaller platforms.. it's just easier and more convenient to dodge . Nice video btw ;)

The issue with gaming companies is the same issue with all corporations. 85% of stock is owned by less than 100 people. When you have something like Microsoft 4-5 people own 70% + of the stock and when they say to CEOs "Make line go up, we don't care how" cuts are the fastest and easiest way to do that. CEOs and shareholders don't understand how games work. They think they are firing a cashier and not a craftsman. Sven Vinke expressed it best.

The more I here from this guy. The more I feel like he justs wants to waste my time. Does grinding out the same zones hundreds of times for 1 upgrade material per node actually sound fun? If this game is absolutely huge maybe it sounds ok for someone who plays this game and has hundreds or thousands of hours. Personally I love the game but I dont think my idea of fun and this guys are on the same page. If I wanna waste my time with pointless grinds ill do it on a mmo. I feal like this game could be awesome if they would worry more about enemy variety, bosses, core mechanics, zones and quit trying to make it a huge grind

Im playing on steam deck, is anyone else having input problems here and there? ill be in the middle of a fight and ill back off a little to heal up ( Up on the D pad) and ill tap the d pad like 3 times and my character doesn’t heal up, then i die because i stop walking and start spamming the heal button and nothing happens… idk why it happens, its a little finicky on that aspect.

Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that console (aside from Xbox) doesn't support EA. Until that changes, there's nothing they can do and you'll have to wait for the full release. Because of exclusivity cases like this, I suggest you double dip into both PC (maybe via a Steam Deck) and console.
