The problem with Logan (and Mass Effect in general), is that after EA brought out Bioware after the first game...you can tell that the game originally was going in one direction that was then changed from 2 onwards. For example. The Asari Consort gives you an item that doesn't appear in your inventory so is easily forgotten. Go off the beaten path and you can come across a relic/construct that will activate and a bunch of text will appear talking about a past genetic memory of how primitive man met with aliens. This artifact then flies off never to be seen again. Now the code of ME1 records this as an event that it tries to transfer as a marker into the sequel; however no corresponding quests or markers are available so that quest/mystery dead ends. Same with some of the alien sculptures that predate the Protheans...Logan could of been an important part of the story that once EA took over got Bioware to rewrite and make the game a more linear 3rd person shooter. You'd likely have to ask a Bioware writer prior to EA's buyout if they have any of the original scripts to see if they knew where the story was originally going or whether they just had left it open for them to use in a later game.

@AtmonTheExectioner4 ай бұрын
@@FranklyGaming It does. But I do wonder a lot what direction ME would of gone of EA hadn't of brought them. Personally ME2 is my favourite, but stripping the game down to a Gears Of War style shooter over a more RPG heavy formula and changing the overall narrative (The Collectors coming out of nowhere and no mention of them in the original has always felt a bit off to me)...makes me wonder what could have been.
@Veladus2 ай бұрын
As the franchise went on, the gameplay got better and the lore got worse. You're wrong if you think they changed direction on the main plot though. The Reapers were always inspired by the Borg (as well as Lovecraftian horrors), so their reveal as being a horror show of synthetic and organic synthesis was unsurprising. To prove they didn't change course massively though, take a look at the planet Klencory in ME1. Some lunatic talks about visions of "beings of light" that will "save organics from machine devils." You may recognize this as the lie Shepard gets at the end of ME3. The ghostboy Shepard sees is made of light, and he's telling you nonsense about saving organics from evil AIs. They clearly had in mind how things would turn out in 3. It's way too specific not to be. And yeah, obviously it's a lie. Their claimed motivation doesn't explain their obvious malice and how they go out of their way to torment their victims both physically and psychologically. We also have records of "someone" destroying species that hadn't evolved sapience yet. We only get this "yo dawg, we're here to kill you to save you from being killed" crap from Starbrat when he's trying to convince Shepard to do something that will kill them. In fact, the only option that Starbrat says will kill Shepard, is the only one Shepard CAN survive. The original endings, as flawed as they were, were intended to make you wonder if you really fixed things or just screwed the pooch. Vigil told you right in ME1: "Your survival depends on stopping them, not in understanding them." As for the Inusannon, BW hadn't yet decided what Protheans would look like when they made ME1. The weird statues we see on Ilos were what they had penciled, but (obviously) they didn't go with and instead had Javik explain that they were the Inusannon, a race from the cycle before the Protheans. We do get to interact with Reaperized Inusannon though. The Adjutants in the Omega DLC. The codex talks about how they don't match any known race, but they look a great deal like the Inusannon statues on Ilos, especially with that weird "vomiting tentacles" thing they got going on. Tentacles in and of themselves aren't super unique, but the way they appear on those statues and on adjutants is. Javik probably would've told you straight up if you could take him to Omega. Anyway, yeah, there's a ton of interesting planetary description mysteries. I think Logan is pretty low on the list though.
@AtmonTheExectioner2 ай бұрын
@@Veladus The rough story was there to be sure. But so many mysteries surrounding planets and objects are left unanswered. I think the finer points were changed to make the game less lore dump and more every gamer can play and enjoy. I think the original endgame against The Reapers was more to do with survivors or previous cycles or some thing on one of the obscure planets in one of the "deserted systems." Maybe even something from humany's genesis. Like we were going to be weapons against The Reapers. Remember; even before release Mass Effect went through a ton of changes. The emphasis on biotic combat and how it came to be was stripped back, with the original premise being that bionics was some mystery "Force like power." The Rachni too seemed to be more of something that was originally going to be more of a focus rather than an endgame afterthought that needed to wrapped up.
@Veladus2 ай бұрын
@@AtmonTheExectioner Yeah, the rachni were definitely going to be a much bigger thing. I remember the devs saying way back when that the geth had a lot more interest from players than they expected. Basically the focus that the geth got came at the expense of the rachni. The geth were originally just going to be stereotypical evil AI mooks, but players were expecting more so they delivered. Even as far as the 3rd game, the rachni got the shaft. There was going to be an entirely different mission if you killed the queen in the first game. Rachni never would've come up again, it was going to be Harvesters (those big flying worm things) that were being Reaperized, in a different way, at a different location. Time restraints had them throw that "cloned queen" garbage in. Shame.

Re: Lavender Town Syndrome In the very first release of Pokemon Red and Green, Lavender Town’s theme did have very high pitched notes that gave some kids headaches. It’s that phenomenon where we steadily lose our ability to hear higher pitches as we age, so it was an error that a song so badly mixed made it into the final version. When Blue version was released in Japan, one of the updates was to Lavender Town’s music to remove those ear piercing notes. Since Blue was the version used for all international releases of the original, no one outside of Japan got that badly mixed version of the tune. I recall the KZbinr, Tama Hero, actually broke out an old import of Green version to test it and it was possible to hear the difference between each song.

Knowing what we do about how messy the development of Destiny was, here's what I think that one is: It was a real video, for an I Love Bees style thing they had planned. Then all that shit with the entire story being ripped out and fully redone happened. However, the video was already out there, so later on, after they fixed the rest of Destiny after that launch, and got their shit together, they then reverse engineered some of the story to make the video kind of work still, if you squint. Both parties are lying when they say it was never a thing, they just don't want to have to publicly say all that.

A quick thing to add on about the destiny thing. Its story was changed completely really late in development. The old story was gonna have Rasputin be a bigger character same with his sub minds like Charlemagne
@MintybirdАй бұрын
This is true, and also gives way for the idea that these ideas were eventually retooled into Ana Bray's storyline and Season of the Seraph. Ana Bray was the light that made Rasputin realize he was more than a sword for others to wield, and it culminated in that season, which focused heavily on Rasputin (who is placed in an exomind that looks somewhat similar to the image in the video) and recovering his subminds through the Heist Battleground missions. It definitely resembles the ideas put in place with that strange video, it's not exact but it totally feels like they wanted to bring back some cut content and retcon it into a new story they wanted to tell. More than likely, with it being a confirmed coincidence with the video being made by someone very knowledgeable of Bungie's quirks in writing, could totally have subtly influenced the writers into making parts of this canon because they're interesting ideas.

Unfortunately !lettinggo was confirmed to be a hoax by a Bungie fan. The destiny subreddit raidsecrets found the sources for all the images, all of which were available prior to !lettinggo. The hanging body is from the 2009 game "NeuroSpasta", released two years before !lettinggo. The Tricorn was ripped from the patent filing for destiny two months before !lettinggo and the sword " Joyeuse " is just from wikipedia. Bungie also has a theme of naming AI after swords owned by Charlemagne or his subordinates, like Durandal for Marathon (the old ones) and Cortana (a female version of Cortain) for Halo. Rasputin isnt a sword name but some of the AIs under its control were, one of which is named Charlemagne. The text is also based on a fan story in a 2010 Bungie forum (that I would link to but KZbin). There is also loads of misinformation regarding the Morse code and binary to "enhance" the story, there are no mentions of Cayde-6 or Savathuun. Its a good Hoax by a really big Bungie fan, but going back through Bungie's backlog you can see loads of similarities between their game's narratives and themes.

I had to go back and listen to the Cosmic Ray Speedrun bit, because the footage was far too creepypasta for what was going on lol. It reminded me of something... I'm English, but, growing up I had a Super Famicom (JP SNES). English and Japanese cartridges were the same shape, whereas the US carts were square shaped. Playing US carts was as easy as sticking a round shaped "extender" on, and sticking it in the console. Playing UK carts... I had to use a "converter", which was a dual-slot extender, Japanese game in the back-slot to spoof it into thinking it's Japanese, then PAL cart in the front you wanted to play. Anyways, point of my story... Me and my brother used to play Mario Kart with ALL of the above inserted. It used to make the game pure chaos. Absolutely no idea why, maybe, if I had to guess, a loss of data/corrupt data due to conversion over multiple adaptors? We'd have loads of fun as it made it pure RNG as Lakitu would for no reason come and "fish you up" thinking you were out-of-bounds and just take you on a mad ride around the course, flipping a coin on whether he'd put you miles ahead or miles behind.

Also my G-Man theory is this: He is a CIA "Pale Man" stereotype from the 1950s except real in the Half-Life universe. As well, I think he is an alien, with a connection to the teleporting ship Borealis, I think it's his ship retrofitted, and his homeworld is Xen, but the Nihilanth took over with it's alien armies, trapping itself until Gordon kills it. That's why G-man is present for the Resonance Cascade, and I think he had a hand in the crystal destabilizing. Although, the testing was rushed too, so it could just be a coincidence that he's at Black Mesa. However, causing the Resonance Cascade and having the army storm the labs knocks out Black Mesa's clandestine research and gives control of the portal to Xen to the government, who I assume the G-man works for. Then it all just falls apart by HL2, where G-man begins to work partially in his own interests, partially for some sort of remnant government, but I think it's all to get to the Borealis and get off Earth.

Whats extra weird about the Sims 2 entry is that it seems a lot of the Sims 2 versions have odd stuff happening The PSP is similar in the Strangetown vibe but in a completely different way That version still is my favorite personally

Great video man, keep up the good work. I know you don’t like survival games but have you ever been suggested Project Zomboid? It’s a survival game alright, I’ll tell you that much. It’s a zombie game but sometimes they aren’t even what you have to worry about… anyways If you see this I’d recommend checking it out.

Similar to Oddheader...BUT MUCH BETTER! Dont get me wrong I love Oddheader, but Frankly's presentation, narration and information are just superior. Editing is top notch, voice over is perfectly made for narration and provides more thorough and in-depth information on each topic. Glad I found Frankly, wish it was sooner.

Bungie has tried their hands at pretty elaborate ARGs before. It wouldn't surprise me if that video was the teaser for an ARG marketing campaign that fell through.

Regarding the first portion about destiny, the only thought that kept popping into my head was that Destiny just has such a bland and generic story that it'd be easy for a coincidence to be the reason

I have a theory about the Cyberpunk thing but no one is gonna like it: The original thing in the game was a glitch. It wasn't supposed to say that, it was placeholder code that got lost in the game. Everyone latched onto it, and CDPR noticed, and then every single thing about it since has been added in post-hoc by them, which is why nothing about it really adds up. It wasn't anything to start with, and then it became a marketing thing for a sequel that's not going to be out for 10 years so it can't actually say anything real because shit might change before then.

Wow... I had weird things with Bruce too. I even thought the characters was breaking my game at least somewhat at the time. I wonder if the devs didn't try things that no one knows they did.

Ya with so many reports it almost seems like something intentional to make players freak out
@hannahmabbott73703 ай бұрын
Sounds like the devs probably had this problem, perhaps during early beta testing or development. So their decided to keep it in just to freak out players. Same as nuclear gandhi in the civilization games.

The PNG file format spec was originally released in 1996, 4 years after the release of Sonic 2, so a "bobnface.png" would not have been related to Sonic 2 development. There would be no reason to convert the files years after development was finished.

I was so curious about the last mystery taking place between the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, that I plugged the code into chatgpt. I'm not sure if this pertains to the mystery in any way, but here is what I got from that exercise: ""FF 06 B5" is a term commonly associated with the "Mandela Catalogue," a popular horror web series created by Alex Kister. It’s an alternate reality game (ARG) and found footage series that involves a mix of horror, suspense, and psychological thriller elements. The series has a significant following due to its eerie atmosphere, unsettling visuals, and complex narrative. The code "FF 06 B5" itself is often interpreted by fans as a cryptic element within the series, contributing to the mystery and encouraging viewers to engage in speculation and discussion. While it doesn’t have a direct meaning outside of the context of the series, within the Mandela Catalogue, it adds to the thematic elements of hidden messages, conspiracies, and the unknown."

A month late... Good video! Some of these I didn't know about! But the Triss one is pretty simple. It's very common in adaptions from books to other media to roll two characters into one. Like in the Relic movie, they roll the FBI agent's character and the detective into one character for the movie, with the detective in the movie having traits and plot points and dialogue that was the FBI agent's. Or in the 1990s Stand mini-series where a more minor female character was cut from the script, and her plot points and some of her personality and backstory were given to a major character instead. Or just swapping things up - the recent IT movie adaptions, for example, take most of one of the main character's plot points and gives them to another main character, vastly diminishing the other character's role. There are hundreds of other examples.
