Big up Ste 💥 It's sad seeing the over the top/overblown overwhelming unavoidable herd mentality-esqe mass hatred 4 Rashy. You can't escape it that's why I rarely watch KZbin now because it's on every channel, every platform, all the same ish being regurgitated. Rashy was beyond sh*t last season, this season hasn't even started but because they wanted him gone they lash out, loads of tantrums, wah wah wah, they single him out, they remember every mistake/error. Truthfully he was good/bad as Amad. He scored but it was offside, it happens, that's football. Yes he wasn't good yday & hasn't scored yet but the way they talk about him is nasty/cruel, most haven't got a clue, some are young, some are r^c!st, there's so many different camps, most just repeat/regurgitate what they've read or heard others say, that's how this type of mass hatred/narrative is spread/created. All of this doesn't help especially if he's staying as we need all hands on deck, so rather than crush his confidence, try a different approach, try be human, try being a fan, encourage him, be supportive, raise his confidence, make him feel wanted. It's a sickness that many are infected with, a lot of people will feel every word speaking to them on a personal level. I always stand up for the players from the sheepish trolls, those who confuse critique with hate & those who disguise hate as critique. No 1 speaks up 4 him when seeing this amount of lies/hate being spread on a daily basis but I always do. Such a disloyal, forgetful, ungrateful, spoilt, bratty, entitled, moany fanbase ♥️ Very rarely do people think for themselves x GGMU 🔴

Who knows about the permanence of the striker role, really? Though the tactical change of False 9s/a 9.5 is forced, it has it's use by choice eg the Cup Final. I have faith in Hojlund but it is good to recognise the value in a change of strategy. A result at Lpool - and, boy, are they due a UTD humbling - and the current approach might become more accepted as a norm. The Mount/Bruno/Zirkzee mix looks interesting. Variety has it's place. Ugarte landing will be another element to stroke chins over, when considering the best 11s. Maguire, gotta say, he does look better than 18months ago but it's hard to ditch early impressions. Tough to have full faith in his presence for a whole game. Maybe that's how ETH sees it too, but it might be a while for the Defence team to fully master the matrix. Mag was at fault for the first Brighton goal... (and off he went) though he was not there for the huge gaping back post hole for their second. Btw Onana looks to be a man in form imho, but I can't help wondering why he did not Schmeichel out into the face of the header

One thing is certain that with the players we had before ETH, a transitional approach was the right play-style to adopt. We can be close to Liverpool rather than Man City or Arsenal in terms of style. Transitional style can be win or bust. 3 things are absolutely crucial for it - physicality, elite decision making and being clinical (as the game is rapid). Our players lack all 3 aspects as of now. For people saying ETH out, things have clearly improved from last season. And to those who feel our tactics were and are only "counter-attacks", you couldn't be more wrong. Idk why the notion is that possession based football is the only great style which everyone should adapt to. Let's be patient with our team. GGMU.

I couldn't have said it myself, also possession based teams like Man City are BORING to watch. I enjoyed the game yesterday and saw massive improvements, I actually saw why Ten Hag started with the false 9 experiment. I fully understand that until Ugarte comes in (hurry up) Mount's pressing from the front is clearly why he's starting, to take the pressure off of Casemiro in midfield and then therefore concede less chances, however ...... Maguire at CB was a terrible idea and then McTominay for Bruno when we were on top. That was mental!

Ste - you asked at what point does Mount go to the bench? He doesn't. Would like to see him on the left instead of Rashford and have Zirkzee start. Or if we magically go for someone like Toney, would like to see Zirkzee on the left instead of Rashford. We simply do not have the space for someone who won't press, can't beat his man, doesn't track back to get into defensive duels and cannot hold up the ball and bring people into the game. Unfortunately Rashford has been the physical embodiment of all of these for about 18 months now.

Where do we go from here Steve? We kept Ten Hag despite a lot of disappointing results last season and we finished 8th as a result. Utd have invested heavily in the team, but the same lethargic football remains. It seems to me we lack belief and a killer instinct. We have to develop a winning mentality and be more clinical in front of goal. Midfield seems to lack creativity and that pass that can unlock defences. Maybe it's ETH's in game management. Some of the team selection and the substitutions were questionable yesterday.

We finished 8th last season because our best defender and one of our best players was out all season. Both our left backs were out all season. Mason Mount was out for 90% of the season. You need to do your homework on ETH and what he did at Ajax. He brings through hungry young players but they don't win the league in their first season. Allow him to build. Two seasons, two trophies. Oh, Erik has won a trophy in every season he has been a manager.

Playing two false nines works out of possession, as you mentioned with the high press. But in possession, it is holding us back. We didn't score a lot of goals last season, we need players in the box, we need attacking intent. We need to do the basics, over lapping fullbacks, full backs supporting the wingers, bodies in the box. Until we do that, this is shaping up to be the same as last season, playing the same, uninspiring style of football.

I think that there is an issue with the way we play out. We play out from the left, and look to go behind from the right. Around the 14 minute, Rashford stood with both hands on both knees, bent forward, after a failed attack. That right there speaks of utter laziness or exhaustion. However, how is it possible that he is already tired after 14 minutes? Harry Maguire lost the ball high up in attack. Instead of returning to his normal center back position, he stood there, totally out of position. Center Backs should never start a running attack. A long pass attack, yes! Also Ten Hag post match the Fulham game was ask, 'what areas do you think needs working on?" His response, "Everything was perfect!" How the hell? United, at home, barely beats Fulham scoring the winning goal in the 83 minute, I think. Either Ten Hag is incompetent or he is seriously struggling to express himself in the English language.

ETH's tactics are better this season than last season. But how much of this assessment is down to the fact that we were so dreadful last season so any improvement is seen as bigger than it is in reality? When you look at the game, Brighton didn't have to do anything extraordinary to beat us. So the question is how good is this ETH tactical ideology?

1) I’d argue that Dalot has been the most consistently good player since EtH has come in, even more so than Bruno 2) Amad could be the long-term starter at RW, especially if he fills out and gets stronger 3) at this point, I think Mount should just be relegated to being a backup for Bruno, as he’s not clinical in front of goal and really just does the same thing as Bruno, just not as well 4) De Ligt needs to start over Maguire from now on, as Maguire plays well but his few errors almost always lead to goals 5) Ugarte can’t get here fast enough, because Casemiro just doesn’t have the legs anymore. Cheers!

Exactly. As crazy as it sounds, just aiming for results is like survival football. When we start looking to dominate games, that's when the results will follow. Ten Haags transition football is the issue, players running around like mad men then not clue when we have the ball if the other team don't leave space in behind

Agree @shishirbanerjee2216 - United do not offer a consistent goal threat. We rely far far far too much on Bruno. Creating 2-3 chances a game is not enough to win most games. That in turn puts more pressure on our defence. When United concede early we look in trouble. Especially away from home. Because we don’t have enough chances created or players capable of converting. I still cannot believe we only have one centre forward in the entire squad. Zirkzee is not a centre forward.

- Maguire benefited the team with his headers, but he didn't pass the ball forward when he had the chance. - Mount did his part when it came to pressing, but much more is needed from him when it comes goals contribution. - Ten Hag needs to stop wasting Bruno up front, neither he nor the team benefits from that choice. There are some things that need addressing, but it feels like the team is in a better place compared to last season.

I completely disagree with I prefer to play shit and win. We are trying hard o play a different style. It’s going to take time for players to adjust. The last few times we played Brighton, city or Fulham we got dominated. Who cares if we can win some off games playing shit. Sometimes you have to take a trip back to go forward. The pieces are there. It’s not fifa man. I think the negative narrative you face on a daily basis start effecting how you view things. Everything is going in the right way. We have the highest missed big chances 6 in the league. Imagine if we score 2 of them? Let’s be positive man

Rashford has had enough Chances to perform. He lacks mentality to remain at the top level. He’s a weak minded individual and doesn’t deserve a place in this team. He should be sold, there’s no remorse in high level sport, there’s no safety net because you’re an academy graduate. You’re either performing consistently or you’re not. Rashford falls in the latter and fails to respond. His time is up. Harsh but truth hurts.
