It's interesting to see how people did synthesis in the past, and sometimes old methods are useful today. Thanks for sharing!

There are a lot of things that get forgotten. I found Lewisohn's book on the Beatles sessions eye-opening because to them a four track recorder was four times as good as a mono tape deck so they applied "direct to mono" recording techniques to each tape track. However, me being influenced by over-dubbers like Mike-Oldfield and Jean-Michel Jarre, I viewed my four track recorder as a mere quarter of a 16 track recorder. A very different perspective!

Still use patch sheets I have created for my Korg DSS-1,Behringer Neutron, and especially for MIDI flow charts.

Ayup Mick, I haven't the patience for filling in patch sheets definitely not making notes, I have taken photos of a couple, but never gone back to them. The synth you built looks interesting do you still have it? I have been looking for a synth kit, but not found anything like this, what's it called? I would like to see a video on that Midivolts gadget. Thanks Tim.

Hi Tim. Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I find the photos lose context so easily. I never figured out a way to overcome that. I do still have the synth - it's a Clef B30 Microsynth. The keyboard was very unreliable so I started building a CV input (it's not 1V/octave) but stopped when I got the Neutron. I did start a video on the MidiVolts but got such a good response to the videos on programming the AE-30 that I'm focusing on that for the next few videos. Thanks for reminding me I already started the MidiVolts video, I'll try to make it the next one after I finish this series.
