Watching this video just reignited a little fire in my heart and brought back so many memories. I had a small puppet when I was a child and learning how to manoeuvre it for skits and games was so much fun! I still remember as A child in 7th grade we had a big presentation we had to do with puppets, I made 8 puppets by myself with my money ,made the script and choreo also myself (my team of 5 didnt care about the project) and got horribly bullied because every other team comisioned professionals to do the puppets and their parents wrote their presentations. To this day that event broke something inside me I never got back. I was the poor kid on a scholarship on a rich kids highschool. never told this story to anyone. this was almost 18 years ago.

I know what it's like to be a poor kid in school full of rich kids. Let me tell you something. I'm proud of you. I really am. Cause you found the time, creativity and money to do it all by yourself. Even if you weren't a professional, you did it all on your own and that's the best part of it. Now that some years have passed, i really hope that inner child of yours had healed, and if he hasn't, then it's time. Make him proud. Make a new puppet. Have fun while doing it. Your past childhood may not have been what you wanted it to, but you've got the present now. Let's do everything you always wanted and have success!
@brandonferland51062 жыл бұрын
You should take pride in the work you did. Sounds like your childhood colleagues grew up with the premium content version of the education system. Attendance was likely their only requirement. A scholarship made you their peer, which means you were the only person among them who earned your place there. I'd say that lands you a bit higher on the hierarchy, and that's probably why you got bullied. Envy.

I know the chances of you seeing this comment on a 2 year old video are slim, but I want to give you my most heartfelt thank you for all the tutorials you create & share. A couple years ago my best friend Shawn & I found a gif of a little red jester Sesame Street style puppet who was boxing 😂 He had little balled up fists & would jab a punching bag & something about him just made us love him! We had no idea where he was from, but we'd use the gif all the time. Hed been sick his whole life, but 2022/23 was the worst. An anti rejection medication he had to take to keep his body from rejecting a kidney he'd had transplanted years back had caused skin cancer, which he'd been battling for years, but the treatment was hard on his one kidney, so we had to go for tests constantly to monitor his kidney function over the course of his cancer treatment. It would usually decrease a bit, but would always bounce back, but in late summer of 22 it stopped bouncing back. So we weren’t able to continue his cancer treatment. Then on Christmas Eve of that year (which I spent 2 hours from home in the hospital with him) we learned he didn't have much time left. His one wish was to just be home, so we moved heaven & earth to make that happen & I tried to bring as much light, joy, happiness & positivity into what days he had left. He was a silly guy with a great & sense of humor & one day while we were in his living room doing wound care we started talking about the puppet (to distract him & help the time pass quicker) & we came up with a whole backstory for the puppet, who he coined "Piff Piff Patterson" 😂 His job & hobbies, where he was from, his favorite outfit etc lol & he became a much loved little character to us, almost our mascot We talked about trying to find one online to order, but we couldnt find one anywhere. He & I both loved the classic Sesame Street episodes from our childhood & were always jokingly singing parts of songs like "Smell a smell, sniff a sniff take a bweath" & reciting "a loaf of bread, a container of milk & a stick of butter" & sharing old Sesame Street videos from KZbin with each other. I think our love of Classic Sesame Street had something to do with why we loved this little puppet so much. But I couldn't find him anywhere. The most I found was some info that it was from commercials in another country, but everything was in another language so it didnt help. I'd thought about trying to make one but had no idea what materials to use or how to even go about it, I'm so glad I found your channel & appreciate the content your making, because although I won't be able to give it to him. I'm hoping I can attempt to create this little jester puppet & have him as a tribute to him. I know he'd have been so excited & woukd have loved it so much. So again, if you happen to find this message, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's the little things in life that make the biggest ripples & your content has made my day & given me hope that maybe, just maybe, I can actually bring this little puppet to life ❤

Believe it or not, this was pretty much how I attempted to fabricate my first ever puppet build way back in 2004 - not necessarily because I was inexperienced in sewing (although that was part of it), but also because I was in such a rush to finish before the follow week (and great, I had never built a puppet before), and this seemed a lot less time-consuming than sewing.

I love how simple your techniques are. I made puppets before, but now I could make them better. Thanks

I’m pretty crafty but had never made a puppet before. These instructions were great! Mine looks amazing!
