@dragonballfanscantread2383 in terms of sportswashing it's pretty cut and dry. For example , Japan topled America in baseball recently producing some of the best talent the MLB has ever seen. But , they also have a culture unique and don't scuff out on other sports ( like the rise of the Japanese football team). It's also like a religion there , but it's inbreded in their culture and they treat it with a lot of respect instead of making it a straight copout.

This was England's best chance to win a series in India. The only reason this series looked close was because this was the most inexperienced team second string team India picked apart from Gabba test in nearly 2 decades or so. Proud of this young team India for snatching the victory from England

England were also inexperienced though. We had the likes of Hartley, Bashir, Ahmed playing for us. Then with the bat guys like Duckett. In India it’s much tougher to make it as a cricketer than in England due to how competitive it is and so guys like Jaiswal have had to clock well over 10,000 hours to make it.

I think this England team actually is not good enough at all. Anderson needs to retire now. He’s 10 mph slower he doesn’t swing ball anymore and doesn’t take wickets anymore. Baiirstow needs to go. He had a good season 10 years ago and another one 2 years ago. Other than I wouldn’t call him an average batsman. And stokes! He’s in on his captaincy which gets questioned sometimes. He doesn’t ball anymore. And apart from that one innings against Australia a few years ago he’s done nothing since. We need to re start and rebuild

As a test team, England won more under Stokes than under Root. Root as a skipper led a team that played conventional cricket and won only 1 match out of 18 test matches, that is as bad as it gets. Yes, England won’t have had a better chance to beat India in their own back yard. It’s been a depleted India side throughout the series but some of the new names have stood up at various times in the series. So in some ways it’s been a useful exercise to blood new names for the future. Flip it around, it’s like if England had gone into the series missing a combination of Pope, Root, Stokes, Foakes, Anderson and maybe one of the spinners for part of or all of the series.

I think what England team and its fans will be most disappointed about is not the 145 all out in 3rd innings(because the pitch by that time had become extremely tough to bat on and all England batters got out on very good balls instead of throwing their wickets) but the 46 run lead which they got instead of ideally getting at least 80-90 runs lead but Ollie Robinson missed the simplest of catches of Dhruv Jurel as he could not see that ball and at that time, England was still leading by 80 odd runs.

​​@@kkr434This is probably England's best batting unit(except Harry Brook) but this spin attack is not even average in quality on decent pitches and only because pitch was so helpful for spinners in this test so that reduced the gap in performance between 2 teams by bringing England's spinners in the game.England badly missed Jack Leach not just because of his experience but also his quality, he has got Rohit out so many times so if he was playing the whole series, England would have had a better chance of winning at least one of the last 3 tests.

Must say lot of talent from the youngsters in India. They have shown grit, class and mental toughness when the chips were down. Jaiswal, Jurel and Sarfaraz were the stars for me. Also, I have to add that main reason for England's loss is that several times they didn't push their advantage like 33/3 in 3rd test and 177/7 in 4th test due to their relatively inexperienced spin lineup compared to their Indian counterparts.

Winning against England is always special to India and Indians a series or just a win Jurel batted exceptionally in both innings and Gill showed class Ashwin was usually good and England had some anxious moments to india

Honestly even I was worried about this match, the way India allowed Eng to make 350+ from 112/5 and then were 230 odd for 7, Dhruv jurel and Kuldeep Yadav showed tremendous grit and resilience. Kuldeep too had a great test match picking 4 wickets and batting for 131 balls, one of the best matches in home for India considering the position they were in and players they were missing

Barring a 28 run difference in the first test, it could easily have been 4-0. India was always going to be a litmus test for bazball and it has been found out. Specially to kuldeep cemented innings . As a pure cricket fan would have loved to see England win and go to the final game 2-2 with the series to play for. Such a shame they lost 7/35. Another 50 runs it would have been a whole different ball game. Still how good were India - Ashwin turned up like the champ he is, Kuldeep as usual always underrated in tests keeps turning up.

It is fair to say Bazball was developed in English home condition and they are being tested in global conditions. Indian batters were more bazball ....but unlike English crowd / media India wouldn't like jump on the band wagon to call it new type of cricket... Test matches are won due to mulitple types of skills, Pant-Pujara can co-exist and play natural game.....

lol India was basically b team .No bumrah,shami,pant,kohli,umesh,kl even jadeja( injured) .England with basically strongest team.AFTER THE SECOND DAY OF SECOND TEST MICHEAL VAUGHAN SAID "THIS INDIAN SIDE IS THERE FOR TAKING WITH 3-2 EVEN 4-1 SCORE LINE".Australia would gone 2-2 or even won the series 3-1 .the pitches were fantastic.Mark wood in this match would have easily got kuldeep and jurel(debutant).England had golden one in rajkot and ranchi .Could easily been 3-1 No ashwin in third and bumrah in 4th test .

Archer is overhyped never better than wood archer bowls his first spell at145 that's it after that his pace drops down to 135. Wood maintains his pace throughout the test match and archer is not bowling in English or sena conditions here to move the ball Anderson can't move no one can .I never saw him bowling reverse swing either. Earlier England used to have bowlers like flintoff and Anderson pace was also high to exploit reverse swing even mathew hoggard used to reverse swing the ball with keeper upto the stumps

If Jurel was in the first test today it would have been India 4-0 . No idea why they did not see the class difference between him & Bharat. Also it’s high time they replaced that Patidar.He is not Test class player unfortunately.

British brought football, hockey and cricket to India. India adopted cricket and considers it as it's religion. We disregard other sports person who are really really in a tough games. Cricket is a game of convenience for India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc. Cricket requires skill and a limited amount of fitness which is enough to make you world champ. Even pot bellied Inzamam ul Haq and Rohit Sharma types can also become world champs scoring tons. Running between the wickets in your own timing. In batting ball comes to you. If you cannot bowl fast like Brett Lee, become Ashwin and Bhaji. Whereas in soccer, basketball, track and field, hockey, Tennis etc you not only need skills, but also enormous amount of SPEED , STAMINA AND FITNESS. OPPONENT STRETCHES YOU IN ALL THESE PARAMETERS. To beat Maradona you have to beat him in his speed, stamina and fitness . So is with Bolt, Micheal Jordon, Micheal Phleps, Nadal, Federer etc. It's neck to neck fight in all these parameters. Cricket is a convenience and reflection of an attitude for India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc. If infrastructure and money were to be seen for any games popularity, than why people from India , Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc settled in England, US and Europe don't play soccer, basketball, track and field tennis, rugby and other games, which are popular there. There also, people from India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc settled from generation play cricket only. Cricket mad nations cannot be sporting nations. Cannot find champs in games like soccer, basketball, track and field etc try to search champs in a lazy game cricket. You talk of Micheal Jordon, Indian will bring cricketer. You talk of Maradona and Pele Indian will bring cricketer. You talk of Micheal Phleps. Indian will bring cricketer .You talk of Federer and Nadal,Indian will bring cricketer. They are totally at different levels and cricketer stands nowhere to them.Even the cricket playing population in India is more than the population of England, Australia, Newzealand, South Africa combined. For these countries cricket is just a game. They are world class in soccer, basketball, track and field, basketball, hockey, volleyball, rugby etc.
