It was probably a wasp, since you never mentioned the stinger being left behind. Bees often leave their stingers behind upon stinging, dying soon after. However, wasps can sting multiple times because their stinger remains firmly attached.

You're thinking about honeybees, which are vey odd compared to other bees. Detachable stings are a trait unique to that genus of bees, and one genus of paper wasps (warrior wasps). Every other bee is just as capable of repeated stings as every wasp (assuming they have a stinger at all). So if you piss off a bumblebee, it will react much like an umbrella wasp, sting as many times as it wants, and won't leave behind anything except venom. So that means he still could have been hit by a number of different bee species as well.

Yeah, I think there's more solitary "vespidae" insects than eusocial ones, and their main means of defending their eggs/larvae being deadly to them, is not a solid survival strategy unless there's more than one of them, and they're not the one laying eggs to perpetuate the genes

@@lotus_flower2000 true, but most native bees are in *decline,* they aren't all gone yet, you can still find many dwindling species even in urban spots if you just look hard enough (most threatened, others endangered), and a few native species are actually doing surprisingly well (such as the common eastern bumblebee, they're tough little things). There's also still plenty of invasives other than honeybees, we've got wool carder bees which have a nasty demeanor, giant resin bees that are symbiotically thriving with kudzu, and more, all spreading at an alarming rate with their favorite invasive plants. Any one of these bees could have hit Mark. Still that's assuming it wasn't a wasp and no stinger was left behind; he didn't say there was one, but he didn't say there wasn't either. Not really much point in trying to guess what this thing was, there's a lot of stinging bugs out there.

3:41 my Dad almost died to this a few years ago. Never had allergies in his life, but one day when he was riding 25mph on his road bicycle in the middle of nowhere, a bee splatters into his face and within 2 minutes he's face first on the pavement struggling to breathe. Thank God he was riding with his vet girlfriend (who I guess had something with her to stabilize him), who just so happened to know the people living at one of the only houses within eyesight. It was actually the first videos I ever watched him play lmao can’t remember the name of it now, but the PC was in a hospital fighting demons and monsters and at the end it revealed he was just slaughtering innocent nurses and doctors.

That exact thing with the bee happened to me as a kid. Hit me in the shoulder and rolled over and stung the back of my shoulder on my way home from swimming. fifteen minutes later I was covered in hives and my dad rushed me to the hospital. Similar story, was driving with the windows half down. Bee managed to fly in through the passenger window (I was going about 35-40 mph, so that was a hell of a shot Mr. Bee) and the bugger managed to fly right up under my knee. Thankfully I lived in the middle of nowhere and was able to pull over quickly without worrying about any traffic.

Mark, i Too have had a bee/wasp fly into my chest. I was riding a motorcycle in 40 degree weather (like 110f) with a bit of my jacket open. A wasp flew into me, crawled under my shirt. i sat down at a cafe and was then stung 6-7 times repeatedly whilst doing a dance of " get this bloody jacket and shirt off me". the impact of a bug at that speed really hurts... then anything else is just insult to injury!

Some guide for you. Main events to upgrade your character - crimson dancer (skills) and lair of frogs (items). Frogs sell powerful weapons and accessories but the need a lot of blood fragments. Frogs sell different items depending on the floor (there are 2 now). Rooms always have the same events.

I got stung by wasps before I got stung by bees- I was like 5 or something at a house inspection with my mom and there was a swarm of them on a hose holder and my dumbass thought I could shoo them away like flies. I screamed and the landlord gave me a bag of peas. we got the house.

I had the same thing happen with a bee except it was my face and it decided not to sting me. I like to think that neither of us saw each other and just came out of it like "wtf"

Definitely a bee. Bees have jagged stingers that get stuck in the skin and when they pull away their stinger is still embedded in the skin. Once they lose their stingers they die.
