A newish study revealed that woman are interrupted more often than men. I am a big fan of the show and they all interrupt each other for great comic effect and to keep the energy up but anecdotal evidence here is that Chazinski and Miller get interrupted more often. Great show!

They're so much funnier than the guests on QI, I'd love to see these four as guests on it. They had Carriad Lloyd on the podcast one week and she really brought the quality down, in fact most guests do. This group are just naturally funny, the comedians are just trying so desperately hard and only doing ok.

I don't know if the pre- and post- cutaways to 'Broadcasting House' are there to lend credibility, but I think they add little value and seem a bit awkward. The middle part of both this and 'Fish' are my favorite of all comedy.. um..things... at the moment.

It's true about the husband of a Queen, isn't it though? Isn't the wife of a King a Queen, but the husband of a Queen is a Prince (in the UK). Shouldn't it be equal? Kings and Queens should be considered equal, right?
@coolbanana1658 жыл бұрын
***** My understand is the second one you gave. That a King is seen as a higher rank. But why should it be? If the highest female rank is below the highest male rank, isn't that sexist? (I'm from the UK, but I'm not claiming that makes me more right).
@cutiekate88 жыл бұрын
Sometimes a place is run not by a King and Queen, but by one person or the other, who happens to by married. The guy mentioned is married to the Queen, who was born royal and inberitaed the role. He's upset that his title/role is King Consort (A man married to the reigning queen) and not King.
@653j5215 жыл бұрын
@Stevie G You are confusing Henrik with Philip. In the UK, the reigning monarch gets to give out titles to family members as she or he sees fit, if Parliament doesn't have a collective stroke over it. (I suspect Camilla will be queen some day if Charles is king, even if it violates the rules for him as the head of the Church of England, which he has said he doesn't want to be. Could be interesting.) Four of Henry VIII's wives were uncrowned but one of those was proclaimed queen, and George IV hated his wife so much he tried to divorce her so she couldn't be crowned with him, which indicates that by then being made queen was what everyone expected of the wife of the king and the only way to avoid it was death or a divorce case. There is a lot of historical guidance with a queen and her husband in the UK but not in Denmark where Henrik is the first. Albert was the only Prince Consort of the lot in the UK. Philip who was raised to the peerage as Duke of Edinburgh, is Prince of the United Kingdom. Queen Anne's husband got a peerage only, Duke of Cumberland. Philip II of Spain and Mary I's titles and claims were so complicated you can read up on it later. William III and Mary II are also complicated. Henrik was a Prince Consort then Prince of Denmark. It is always assumed that the husband will try to seize power from the queen so keeping him in check with a lower status is important to prevent the outsider, usually a foreigner, from succeeding in a coup d'etat. Apparently most of the women have agreed with that and haven't tried to change it. One must remember, though, that if the heir is a man, his queen is usually not his co-ruler and will not take over if he dies, his bloodline will, so she is also in a lower status position. In the UK the heir of either sex is normally above the spouse and not succeeded by the spouse, so in that way it is equal: man or woman, the heir has the power! You can, and many do, get a new spouse but it's harder to get a new heir. :) (In some countries, like Denmark, and some eras the non-heir queen would be called Queen Consort. The queen who is the heir can sometimes be called Queen Regnant. I haven't found any occasions in European history of a King Consort. Parliament wouldn't agree to it for Albert so Victoria settled for Prince Consort.) In 2017 Prince Henrik, who previous to his engagement to be married had no title, was diagnosed with dementia, which might explain his obsessive, immature behavior about his title, and his wife's unruffled composure, as well as her asking their son in 2002 to carry out official duties one day instead of Henrik, causing him to rush off in a huff, to whine to the media about his ill treatment. She knew him best. She had her reasons. I suspect one of them was he couldn't handle delicate situations, let alone being king, and she did the right thing, the loving thing. She did make sure their grandchildren, who didn't have titles, carried his last name, and his son's title as count includes Henrik's family name, which pleased him, like putting Mountbatten into the British line. He evidently didn't stop loving her because of her not making him king: www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/2018022246519/prince-henrik-final-surprise-funeral/

I have just watched the first episode of the new series, and what an irritating experience it was. First, there was the unbelievable smugness of the participants. They laugh inordinately at their own jokes and everybody else's, secure in the knowledge, judging by the audience cutaways, that they are preaching to young, trendy self-proclaimed ironists just like themselves. But even worse, this is the apotheosis of one of the most irritating of modern mannerisms - the insertion of the word "so" where it does not belong and has no meaning. So this was the worst tally of the useless word I have ever struck. So in this 28 minutes, it was used inappropriately no less than 36 times - mainly by Anna Ptaszynski, who was responsible for nearly half. So it is time to stamp this out. So it is time to have lessons in basic simple English for these people, who I assume are all university graduates - their smugness suggests this. So they should look in on their local primary school and ask for instruction. So, goodbye.
