I’ve now watched a hand full of your videos and truly appreciate your kind personality and speaking skills are excellent. Love the shirt btw! I’m over 40, I am a techie but would suggest people who are worried about ‘tech’ to not overthink things. I only use an iPhone for my channel (for video, audio is professional equipment), mind you the visuals are ‘out there’ but it really shows you what a phone camera today can do. Once I stopped overthinking things is when I was able to push ahead and not look back. If you’re thinking about it…just do it! Great video

Have considered doing KZbin so very long but was not sure if I could produce what I had in mind. I like science but suck bad at math so it would be more conceptual science, not the nitty gritty. More of a " try this or that and see what happens " Not with chemistry though. lol Like to not blow myself up. I have a garage I bought a few years ago just for converting to my own lab. Room to do things and can find parts without spending an entire day digging in boxes. I have tons of thoughts wrote down on notes for years. Just me wondering what if or can I do this or that. I am not afraid to be on camera. But more as not coming up with things that will really intererst others. One thought was doing some videos on what others have done but my version and ramping the crap out of to see what it will do. I have several devices to play around with. Db meter, wind speed , senstive digital scales , a new leaf blower to produce 0 - 100 mph wind when I want it , and list goes on and on. But I never had room and place to start experimenting with all of it. Just stored it away and waited. Now I have the garage and have over time, insulated it, plastic up and walls. Electrical is next but maybe not this year. I am retired and income is very small after 41 years in hot factories. I am 69 1/2 years old- lol So putting off much longer may not be an option for me. Sorry for short story here. I came across your channel by chance the other day and subbed based on one video. Not so much on content, which was good though, but your mannerism is what grabbed my attention. You seem like somebody that would be easy to be friends with in person. And the cherry on top was when you mentioned God in many of your videos. Not preaching but give God the credit for your life. I like that , so I subbed. I hope you continue to make videos for a long time. 😃

Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing and nudging us onward. I am a techie that build large scale networks for a living, like airport Wi-Fi and cellular coverage. You have encouraged me to the point I just received my wireless microphone(s) and the last thing I need to get started is that little tripod clip for my iPhone. Which one are you using and where did you get it from? I am hoping to start some videos that make tech more user friendly, since we all have a home network nowadays. So here is my other questions, 4K video or 1080p for instructional videos? I also take wildlife photos and at 90x optical zoom, the quality is a bit poor. There are newer 4k cameras with 80-120x optical zoom, so if I can start earning some revenue on KZbin, I know what I going to invest in a bit later. Any ideas for getting better video/photos other than better light and getting closer… 😂. Thanks again. Oh, P.S. if you want the link to the inexpensive mics I bought let me know and I can DM you the info.

My problem with not being a techie (I was until the mid 1980’s when C+ and C++ came out, then I lost it), I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong…or right, as the case may be. I recorded something, and edited out stuff using iMovie (free with the phone) but when I go to post, YT Studio will only look at my camera for files. How do I post it, or how do I transfer the finished video back to my camera if that’s where it needs to be? This is my first video and I’m frustrated. Can you help me?
@KevinKolbe2 ай бұрын
Sounds like you shoot on your phone, then edit on a computer. If so, you can either a) upload to KZbin from your computer or b) send the file back to your phone via AirDrop. It would be easier to just upload off the computer if that's where your editing.

@KevinKolbe Thank you for the prompt response! No, I’ve done the editing on my phone as well. Part of the problem may be that I bought a new iPhone and kept my old iPhone. As part of the process of converting over to the new iPhone I deleted several things I didn’t want to transfer, namely the file folder that contained all my photos on the iPhone 14 from the iPhone 16. I also left all my games on the 14 to help conserve battery power on the 16. The 16 is where I am creating videos, along with a new gmail account (so if you look at my account here, you won’t ever find anything, it’s all on my other gmail account). Once I figure out how to save the video into a folder there that Studio can find, I’ll let you know the channel name. I just minutes ago figured out how to do a voiceover. It sounds like I may need to drop this onto my desktop to post it.

I'm almost 59. Just want to have fun with craft videos. Have made 2 on my android phone. It's all I have at moment plus selfie stick. Just wanted to have fun w editing but can't seem to get my pc to read photos or videos on my phone. So from phone what is easiest editor to have fun w? Or how to get my computer to read my phone so I can do from there
@KevinKolbe4 ай бұрын
I'm on an iPhone so don't know much about Androids but you might be able to use the cord that came with your phone to connect to your computer and copy the photos/videos there. Regarding editing, search for free PC editing that comes with the computer.

Kevin, thanks for another great video. I’ve hit a kink in my video uploads from my iPhone; apparently I need it converted to mp4…? Can you direct me to where I can learn how to make this conversion? Right now I’m stumped. Thx…!
@KevinKolbe4 күн бұрын
mp4 is recommended BUT you can still upload as a .mov file from your phone.

Hey Kevin, . Alexa here again. Hmm, being "technical." Uh, NO! You're doing right. I would, however, recommend you skim through the owner's/user's manual to familiarize yourself with the functions, locations of buttons and limitations of your camera. After 20 years in photography/videography I have watched the technical side of the industry grow at an exponential rate. In short, the camera you bought 6 months to a year ago, is pretty obsolete as of today. It's technically out-of-date. . As I've learned from a Master Photographer with 60 years in the photography field, technical aspects of any "creative" endeavor, WILL snuff out the excitement and adreneline pumping creativeness of your videos and video shorts, no matter how interesting. Even Einstein was critical of technical knowledge, siding on "imagination" and "creative thought" as knowledge is limited to what we know now, based upon what we've learned from "then." Imagination, on the other hand, knows no bounds, has no limitations, except that of our own creative minds. . My grandfather frequently reminds me, true unencumbered creativity needs NO college, no special classes or costly courses to be successful (See historry of Ansel Adams - kicked out of so many schools as a child he had to be HOMESCHOOLED, yet not one photographer I know doesn't recognize his name). . If you cannot visualize the compostion of an image in your mind before you press that shutter release - YOU'VE ALREADY FAILED. It may be "technically sound" yet lacking of all interest, intrigue and mystery in its totality. Institutions are fine at teaching and preparing students to go to work for someone else, and not how to go it alone. Be your own boss, and you'll never complain about the person in charge! . As I've been reminded of so manuy times, we work outside of the box, preventing us from being confined or feeling trapped in what we hope to create through imagination and the freedom that comes with it. ~Alexa Shaw, Just A Simple Photographer

Thank you so much for this video and your encouragement. I started recording and posting my videos from August first five shorts and five videos. I know my niche and demographics.i have one subscriber and may be 10 to 12 views for each video. Is this normal? Am I expected too much to grow fast? FYI This is not my Chanel. It’s a new channel I started 😊

Any advice for my confusing language and my age too 53 years old coming but I like all technology and try to have some hobby and learn. Thank you 🙏🏽
@KevinKolbeАй бұрын
Use the language you're most comfortable with and your desired audience speaks. KZbin is working on a feature called Auto Dubbing which will allow channels to have videos in any language on their own channel
