Your story about your daughter is pretty moving for me. I'm only 18 but last year I left an abusive household, became homeless for a couple weeks, found and moved in with my dad, got therapy and am now planning to walk the perimeter of the UK in march. I've got a tent and everything. Before this year, I never pushed myself. I felt like I was sleepwalking through my life and had no personal autonomy. Now I know that I am a blank canvas and can do anything I put my mind to. The world needs more dads like mine and you. Kids need to learn to push themselves, walking consciously through life and making decisions for themselves. Thanks for that story of your daughter and I hope you enjoyed mine 🙂

at some level, you need to heal with out the persistence of the trauma that caused it. at another level, you will learn that monsters are made, they are not born. that will help you find the compassion to the those who hurt you. but you won't find that until you have found kindness for yourself first.

@@chrisruthford4492 How about if you live somewhere with more strict gun laws? For example it's nearly impossible to get a carry permit in Finland even if you are one of the few who shoot as a hobby... unless you want to carry a rifle or a shotgun around if you hunt, even then it could be trouble if you carry it in some national forest. Luckily we don't have any big predator animals here besides bears and wolves which really aren't a problem. I wonder what I should do if I ever wanted to travel to US and hike in cougar territory for example...
@chrisruthford44924 жыл бұрын
@@TheLazyFinn I built a walking stick that was a sword also. Used to carry it in National Parks here in the US. Better than nothing. In the wilderness I'm not really worried about the Animals it's more the two legged predators that are dangerous. A whole bunch of people go missing in US National Forests and Parks every year, with no answers. Be careful out there.

Hey Luke. I'm living vicariously through your adventures so thanks for sharing them with us. A humble little tip for you and your followers if you want when heating water in cold weather... only fill your cup about a quarter of the water at first. That will come to a boil about 50+% faster than a full cup. Then, when it is really hot and you add the rest of the water, it will come to a boil a lot faster than if you had all cold water. :-)

Our whole family is military. It’s not an easy life but certainly does build character and discipline. Wish more of today’s youth would serve. 🇺🇸✝️ Love your videos!

The ultimate compliment to a parent, "Thank you for pushing me, I love my life." Reminds me of my daughter. After graduating from high school, she had the opportunity to play basketball for a college under a scholarship. She said, "Dad, I want to go in the Marine Corps, like you. It's hard, but that's what I want to do. I know the pride you feel. She would not trade anything for the experience. Should have brought two Curry and Shrimp....after heating .....strap one on each foot. I don't know how y'all handle that kind of cold. I just came in from checking the charger on my boat. It is 37 degrees and I ran back in the house. :) Beautiful music by the way. Thank you for what you do.

Dear Luke. I am a German (originally from Sweden) who now is living in Switzerland. I absolutely like your videos. I like you, and I like what and how you are doing the things. You are an honest, upright and very clear and stuctured man, and so are your videos. I myself and for me I do absolutely not like hiking, camping and other outdoor things, but I like watching you, and how you master so many things so well! 👍👍👍 But one little thing does absolutely not fit to neither you, nor what you are doing, or what your videos express. That is the music, you are using during the last weeks, resp. months. Your videos are clear, honest and positive. The music you are using is sad, negative and depressing. This music does fit to movies, in which a girl has cancer and dies at the end of the movie, or to a chinese movie, in which hundrets of Chinese soldiers have been killed and at the end of the movie the camera flies slowly over this battle field filled up with so many dead soldiers. Please, Luke, try to find back to the music, that fits to you, and what really good and positive things you are doing in your movies. Thank you very much... and Merry Christmas!

Thanks Luke, amazing video! I loved very much the fact that you filmed a lot during the night. As a city man, the night in the woods is a total unknown dimension for me and, as an extension, for any other city person among your viewers. There are quite a few channels out there filming overnight camping, but it is very difficult to watch anyone dedicating time to film what happens during the night, which from a city person standpoint, is the most magical and mysterious section of camping in the woods. The sounds of animals, rain, snow, the wind, the stars or simply how your camp looks under the light of the fire during the night is loaded of unique sensations not so common in KZbin. I hope this little lines can give you some ideas that, united to your abundant creativity, can add more viewers like me to your already nice channel. Thank you very much for your videos, they are fantastic!
