No, the Keychron K6 is Actually Good! | Everything you need to know

The Keychron K6 is a small wireless mechanical keyboard for windows and mac users. I have been loving mechanical keyboards for a while and the 68 keys Keychron K6 really took that to the next level. The aluminum frame and the small size make the keyboard perfectly portable. The hot-swappable feature allows the user to change individual switches in a matter of seconds. I love the Gateron Brown switches and would definitely recommend them.

I have the K6 for about a month now. The first couple of weeks, I used it stock with Gateron Browns. I've since swapped it out for Glorious Pandas, lubed those switches as well as the stabs, added some foam and have also swapped out the stock ABS keycaps for the PBT. I was already liking it stock, and am liking it even more now. Have also yet to even charge it for almost a month now, and I've been using it daily averaging around 6 hours of use each day. Before I purchased this, I was also looking at the Epomaker GX68XS, the Akko 3068 and the Anne Pro II. Glad I got this over the others, that 4,000mAh battery is a huge advantage.

The “Aluminium Version” is btw just the standard version with an aluminum frame slapped on. If you take off the screws, you’ll have the plastic version.

Nice video! I am kind of newish to the mechanical keyboard world. I was thinking of getting also a keyboard from keychron. I liked most if it, e.g. the key distribution, switches, the design... however, my biggest concern was the height of it, and the need of an extra table to laydown the wrist. I did not want to have extra things on my desktop, for me... the less the better. For that only reason, I bought the slim one from RK ... and i love it.

Cool video! You should consider to switch your keycaps with some good PBT ones, there are some with similar colors, there are some which are doubleshot PBT+ABS (more affordable) or doubleshot full PBT (better quality but more expansive), or even better PBT with sublimation printed chars which are a nice choice in between

I got the backlit one because I’m not much of an rgb guy but as my first keyboard, I love it and I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a thicc boy, satisfying clicks, and monochrome aesthetic keyboard.

The keycaps are thin ABS. Like, really thin. Not to mention that the Gateron Browns may be very susceptible to spring 'ping'. I prefer them over Cherry Browns, tho. I've lubed my switches, and using them with an ePBT Dolch set at the moment and the experience is far better compared to stock. An easy modification that may dampen the reverb of bottoming out a little bit is to put some foam in the case. It's a nice board to get into the whole mech keyboard scene, and given that it's hot-swappable it's a lot easier to find a switch that you really like or tinker with them.

@@hugoolofsgard415 i have the 96% version (k4) and the only big problem for me is the keycaps is thin abs with lasered lettering so it will shine and fade overtime. I heard some people have a squeaky sound on their spacebar, but i'm not experiencing it. Apart from that, they keyboard feels great. I have no issues connecting to multiple devices, changing from windows to mac, and haven't notice a huge delay on bluetooth. From my experience the keyboard last around 4 weeks without rgb and 2 weeks with rgb. Overall it's a very great keyboard for it's price and i recommend buying the aluminium version since it feels more premium and more rigid. If you want you can buy a wrist rest since for me it's more comfortable with it (also keychron had a wooden wrist rest which from what i heard had very great quality)

I think this would be a serious contender for entry level mech champion, although I still have a really hard time finding alternative keycaps for it.

Look for key sets that includes non-standard sized keycaps as part of the package, such as the 1.75U Right Shift. There's also the Fn 1 and Fn 2 keys which are rare in keysets. But if the key sets comes with extra 1U with picture icons (or blanks) you can easily use those as replacements

I want a compact keyboard that has arrow keys so I chose the 65 percent layout. My Current 60 percent keyboard has a lot of issues including the fn key not working so i cant press f1-12 which is really important for what i do. I know this is a weird question but did your fn key break or didn't register with this keyboard? Thanks.

whenever i turn on the pc and try to connect the keyboard with bluetooth, the q key just keeps flashing no matter how many time i press it and hold with and without function. same with the e and w keys. help? i have to connect w/ cable

The biggest issue with this keyboard is its missing the Delete key, normal 68s layouts have one in the upper right hand corner where this one uses a Home key instead. You have to use a Function key assignment to use Delete, that's a deal breaker for most.

It does not have a dedicated delete key, but you can do it with a key combo. You can also remap it to one on the right.
