In this video, I explain my bowling history and what circumstances made me become a no-thumb, 2-finger bowler. I then go through my set-up and where I place my thumb on the ball, since it isn’t in a traditional thumb hole. I also reference what exactly I do with my wrist and hand as I release the ball onto the bowling lane. I further explain a couple adjustments I have discovered and incorporated into my game to both increase and decrease my revolutions without changing my approach or release mechanics. I include slow motion views of my release at the line and compare that release to those of tour professionals Norm Duke & E.J. Tackett. Those comparisons, I think, show very similar releases even though they (Duke & Tackett) have their thumb in the ball and I do not. Finally, I discuss the disadvantages I see with this style of bowling, but also go through the foundational steps needed to try this style through demonstration of technique. Hope you all enjoy the video. Please like, comment, and subscribe to my channel. Thank you for stopping by.
Rev Rate Formula:
Number of revolutions from off the hand to hitting the head pin / time it takes to travel from the hand to hitting the head pin. Then, multiply by 60. (Example: 18 revolutions / 3 seconds = 6 so, 6 x 60 = 360 rpm)
