I've been bowling with these for the past 3 weeks. I have some serious arthritis pain and swelling in my middle and ring fingers on my bowling hand. I was considering quitting bowling but in desperation I decided to try these out. It doesn't make the pain and swelling go away but it has allowed me to hang onto the ball a lot longer so that I'm no longer dropping the ball before the proper release point. The arthritis has weakened my bowling fingers to the point that I couldn't hang onto the ball long enough to keep my hand behind the ball before the release point. With the Bowling Fingers device my release is a lot stronger now. The other guys in league noticed my stronger strikes and asked me questions like "did you get a new bowling ball" or "did you get a new glove"?
@andrewfoglestad3641 Жыл бұрын
I've actually tried these, a guy who stated who was the one who developed these ( I live in IL ) was at the house that I normally bowl at. I found them to be kind of painful. I agree 100% that some kind of padding is needed and it made above my knuckles uncomfortable.

Interesting device that may be of some help but who knows? May be more comfortable if had hinge that flexed with the fingers? What would be the effect of just taping the fingers together as the base of the fingers? The things that us bowlers will try to get an advantage! Same with golfers who are offered gimmicks to get some type of advantage.

I use a Mongoose Lifter. It sort of and I use that loosely, does a similar thing, depending on how you wear it. I use more to keep my wrist from opening and to stay under the ball. It does restrict finger movement to some degree…. Anyway, I will just stick with my Mongoose

I tried these when they first came out and was bowling much more consistently. I have bad hands and I noticed my fingers did not hurt the way they normally do after 3 games. I lost them and continued bowling without them. I didn't make the connection right away but my average started dropping pretty quickly. I picked up a new pack, and right away I was back on track. My average went back up and hand my hand feels better too.

One of the biggest problems that bowlers have is they don't have the way, time, or money to experiment with different grips and pitches on a ball to find the one that works best for them. I work in a pro shop from time to time when the owner is swamped with work and needs help catching up. Even as great of a fitter as he is, he's not an "oracle." He can only make the ball fit properly, but can not tell the customer exactly what type of grip would give them the desired feel they really want.

@iceman5117 Жыл бұрын
1) you don't need a bunch of rotation 2) rotation is a function of timing and wrist position. If your thumb isn't clearing correctly, either you're drilled incorrectly, or your timing is way off. There are a ton of drills to practice your timing and position

@@brunsnick OK so completely useless for me I actually was able to get around my finger pain by wearing one of those compression arthritis gloves on my left hand I just had to cut off the thumb. The glove allows me to bowl with no pain problem solved. As for my rev rate. I actually have a super slow ball speed. So for me a 400 or better rev rate would actually hurt my game more than it would help it. As you already know you want your rev rate to compliment your average ball speed whatever it is. Ball speed and revs need to work together. As you already know.

specto rev rate is incredibly inaccurate. the shot at 10:49 is almost exactly 9 frames for one full rev, at 60 fps that's right at 400 rpm. the next shot with the device is slightly less than 9 frames for one full rev, so approximately 415 which is obviously well within margin of error. i would say it doesn't affect your rev rate at all rather it looks like it's causing your axis rotation to increase slightly.
@brunsnick Жыл бұрын
SPECTO is calculated and it does get thrown off sometimes, but here looks like it was spot on.
