If the ump had called out, it's not the runner's fault he retreated back to first. The rule makes total sense.

Weird? How? Ump called it a catch but it wasn’t so they over turned it.

Same thing happened with Mets and Phillies in the DS. It’s not a weird rule, it’s just common sense. Since Iglesias only ran to second without tagging up after the ump called it a no catch when they overturned it they allowed Iglesias to go back to first since he only didn’t tag up because ump made a call.

While PNC Park really is a gorgeous park, I miss that old cookie cutter giant saucer of a park, Three River Stadium.

Please explain how this is a "weird" rule Umpire called it a catch base runner went back to his original base (what he was suppose to do) the call got overturned so he got second that a pretty standard play

Kwans catch is easy and tough This one was a cheat

If I was the guy in outfield I would have thrown it to second saying I didn't catch it. Remembers when you didn't even have replay reviews so that is still weird to me.
@supaflykai4 сағат бұрын
It wouldn't have made a difference, the ump called out on the catch, that's the call that gets overturned. There's no play at second on a caught ball.
@billypage4115Сағат бұрын
That's bullshit they should have thrown it to first and got a double play
@hotpocket84816 сағат бұрын
Betts should be out at second on the force, ohtani safe at first. But mlb let's the dodgers break the rules
@supaflykai4 сағат бұрын
Why would he be out at second? The ump called a catch/out, therefore Mookie needs to run back to first. Once the call was overturned, he was given second base, as that is at least where he would have made it on a single.
@Cheesecurd3333 сағат бұрын
This is a stupid take. If the ump didn't call it a catch then Mookie would've made it to 2nd base easily, and maybe even 3rd base since the outfielder was on the ground. He only went back to first because of the umps call. Why should the player be punished for that and be called out, when If the call was made correctly Mookie would be on 2nd or 3rd. Guess you're just too dumb to realize that though
@bradwhite39783 сағат бұрын
If anything, the batter would be out since the umpire called it a catch

There is a Mookie other than Mookie Wilson in baseball?? How is that possible? Did this one know Wilson's grandma and she called everyone that?

what's dumb about it? They made a bad call and overturned it quickly. Umps are human, humans make mistakes.

Weak. The runner at second should have been out. More evidence that it is scripted.
