The clamp looks very similar to the newer Salsa Guide seatpost's. Probably not a coincidence given both brands are owned by QBP.

I am lucky enough to get Whiskey products at cost , I have that same one , I love the way it rides but the clamp is not my favorite.

Maybe it's just me but I don't see the point in a "durable" carbon seatpost. It's carbon so it can't take as much damage as a lighter weight, stronger, and cheaper Thomson Elite post would during a fall or accident. Due to the fact it's carbon and you can't know the actual under the surface damage. At 300grams and no weight limit I can't see it being very compliant either which is another appeal of Carbon posts usually.

Well a couple of things. This is reasonably light, and less expensive than a Thomson post so we are pretty well set.

You think 307g is respectable? Why do we need no weight limit? Is there a 400lb person riding an aero bike? Let’s be realistic. lol. The Roval Alpinist carbon seatpost has a 275lb weight limit and I believe is under 150g. That’s respectable.

A 31.6mm seatpost would be used on a lot more than an aero bike. In fact no aero bike comes to mind that utilizes a 31.6mm seatpost. Additionally the Alpinist post would be lightweight in my book. However it doesn't compare. It is 161% more expensive ($275 vs $105usd) and it is a 27.2mm road post. Yeah if you pay almost 3x the price for a other post, you should expect a lighter post. Thinking that people don't appreciate a stoutly made carbon post because they might weigh more than you is low class gatekeeping. Ride your stuff and enjoy, don't yuck someone's yum.
