Save the resistors. For a long wall, room, or building, you can wire the LEDs with resistors to run off of a single 9V batttery

One of the better ideas i ever saw in this. If you want it to be a massive centerpiece with a lot of hard to reach spots for lights then it would be good wiring. But for an evening play , you can simply put them on and have not too much work on it. Love it

Thank you so much for sharing this. Fully understanding that I am late to the game, I cannot wait to put these in some of my buildings. I would suggest that you hang onto the resistors. I don't mind doing a bit of hobby soldering, but it's so tedious and needs space, and then add a battery holder for even more space. This was mind-blowingly awesome, convenient and space saving. Just did a test with a spare LED I had and it is a bit harder when the LED legs are a bit shorter, but seeing that I made it work on first try even then I decided to order some flickering lights right away. Can't wait to add this to some future builds. Thanks for the inspiration and for being awesome.

A few pieces of advice for anyone following this. First, you can use diodes from cheapo dollar store fake candles, just pry them open and it'll come out easy. You can also extend the distance between battery and diode by twisting some speaker wire of any length (or any conductive wire, doesnt matter) to each of the diode wires. If you don't have the shrinking plastic, I don't see any reason why you couldn't just use electrical tape!

This is pretty cool and look great! "But" (there's always one in the crowd, right?) I'm not a fan of torches as a realistic (functionally realistic) form of light. (Shadiversity makes some good points kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaSlf3uYjKyXmLs) Case in point, that one outside the bar/inn would set that shingle roof on fire pretty quickly. I can see this being repurposed into oil lamps, especially if you could find some small glass chimneys.
