Queen captures pawn, he trades queen and the rook ending up on that square is out of place and useless as all pieces from magnus are protected. Black could have played it, winning black a pawn and black could have traded a few more pieces which is why magnus premoved his queen. It didn't happen and Magnus moved on.

If you put the position and analyze it with an engine you will see within 15 moves black is better (- sign up + sign down) symbol, within 26. moves -+ black has a decisive advantage. so long side castle in the long run isn't much of a help for white as black can transpose into kings Indian and launch extreme attack on the queen side. not good for white. but yes when its Magnus playing who gives a crap.
