Queen captures pawn, he trades queen and the rook ending up on that square is out of place and useless as all pieces from magnus are protected. Black could have played it, winning black a pawn and black could have traded a few more pieces which is why magnus premoved his queen. It didn't happen and Magnus moved on.

@ShinningDarkness5 жыл бұрын
Launching a kingside attack is no problem if you are going to long castle. What is truly impressive is his space domination on the long diagonal with pawns defensively placed opposite his queen bishop battery, which is supporting his bold move G5. @3:00 I think Magnus gave him a chance before trapping the piece... If he plays knight to B4 Magnus can't push E4.
@sonicpowerr40685 жыл бұрын
Shining Darkness The Fallen well but to launch an early attack on the king side takes a lot of confidence and knowledge. 2.g4 is not really good for white, as it allows the Knight to capture the pawn and stay one point ahead for black. If you put the position and analyze it with an engine you will see within 15 moves black is better (- sign up + sign down) symbol, within 26. moves -+ black has a decisive advantage. so long side castle in the long run isn't much of a help for white as black can transpose into kings Indian and launch extreme attack on the queen side. not good for white. but yes when its Magnus playing who gives a crap.
@ShinningDarkness5 жыл бұрын
@@sonicpowerr4068 black can capture the pawn just like Magnus points out but it is complicated and white has some compensation out of it, but in a game between GM's often winning a pawn can win the game.
