Principles of Chess for Beginners: 1. Never bring your queen out too early. 2. Don't move the same piece more than once in the opening. Magnus: 1. Develop queen immediately. 2. Move it 5 times, then exchange it. 3. Crush Grandmaster.

I mean the Scandinavian can be fine in 3 min games. Sure his Qd6 line is pretty bad in general, and it would get crushed in a classical game, but in blitz everything is possible. Also don't underestimate the benefits of taking your opponent out of book

@@Marco..1 agree. Sometimes in top level, lose a tempo can be an advantage. Because opening = preparation. Losing tempo means the opponent cannot proceeds according to preparation. Also in general all basic principles now need to reevaluate nowadays. AlphaZero already proved that in some cases, no castling and push Harry the H pawn very early as move 2 or 3 can result devastating attack

@JL-CptAtom good insight! Plus psychologically in chess, we are tend to follow the rules, but as many cases, the one that think outside the box usually can see all the dimension of battlefield, more flexible and adept to situation. Ofc following the rules still have benefit for beginners or child learning chess. Even if Fischerandom replacing classical chess, it will eventually have a 'opening theory' since nowadays so easy finding the best move in almost any situation via silicon monster

makes sense doesn't it? He propably knows the good players, at least heard their names, especially if they already played against him and did well... So when they dissappoint, of course Magnus will say so... From a no name he expects nothing and if he have to start thinking and maybe because of arrogance or laziness doesn't win he respects the nobody... It is like Messi in football going against one of the best defenders (Godin or something) and he just opens his legs so Messi goes through with no problems.... and then Messi plays some nobody on the streets and with Messi being relaxed and not too serious the nobody takes the ball and starts the counter-attack... of course Messi would respect the nobody at that moment... and Godin would receive some burn-comment because both know that he can do better.

Magnus is a blessing to watch. I was just watching two guys play earlier and their ranks were around 2600 and 2500 and it was a close game. But still...even at rank 2600 they are mere mortals compared to the genius of magnus. How magnus truly understands the game is so fascinating and a joy to watch. If I was ranked 2900 I would feel on top of the world, but even then I would still be smashed by the great magnus carlsen. You are a rare human being magnus just remember that. All those mathematicians back in Albert einstein's day were absolutely fantastic...however....einstein was in a league of his own because he was a true genius and understood his craft like it was the back of his hand. Knowing that I could never be a magnus carlsen makes me enjoy watching him even more. Like if you too think magnus would smash you to pieces in chess

When the opponents bishop took on B4 at 4:33, Magnus missed Bishop takes on B2, which also forces a check on the King, before then winning back the opponents Bishop after King takes. It’s a rapid game and a tricky tactic, I bet he would’ve gotten it given more time.
