What the Davinci community needs is channels like Corridor Crew, Film Riot, and Cinecom doing more with Resolve/Fusion. They show a lot of great how to's but for Premiere/After Effects, I'd love see the same tricks and techniques in Davinci. If not by them, someone else.

Would love to see a video on how to have an asset with different in and out animations that can be turned on and off via tick boxes in the edit page. Motion VFX (the company) have this on their backgrounds and titles and I would like to know how I could make my own. keep up the good work!
@technikforlife_2 жыл бұрын
You need to create a costum control (checkbox) and connect a dissolve node via an expression with that costum control. Then you just need to connect in the background of the dissolve node, the Input without the Animation Out and in the foreground the Input with that Animation Out. I hope you can understand it 😂
@NickSandM2 жыл бұрын
@@technikforlife_ also you can just edit controls> make new Checkbox Control> Publish Level/Blend then Connect it to that Checkbox button (most nodes have Either Level/Blend, or at worst the Merge blend), Publish is better performance than Expressions. (Unless you're wanting Advanced Iif statements)

I think when they manage to figure out a way to create something like the bones (I'm not sure that's the correct name) in After Effects, then that will definitely 100x the opportunities for creating similar motion graphics.

Thank you for making this. I think a lot of folk still believe Mograph = AE, but things are changing, and personally I think in the fusion is superior in many ways. well, „ the industry“ is very much AE so it’s hard not to if you work professionally. although fusion is cool and in some parts better than AE…
@rano123212 жыл бұрын
@@jochenv1 What industry are you talking about? Good luck finding jobs in any VFX studio where they are using after effects for professional VFX and compositing for movies and tv shows, pretty much every studio around the world use mostly Nuke and Fusion and some are still using flame. Fusion has been around for longer than nuke and has been used over 1000 films and TV series and games, meanwhile the only people who use after effects professionally are mograph artists and freelancers, youtubers.
@jochenv12 жыл бұрын
@@rano12321 in germany at least the tv stations mostly have their graphics kit as AE project. and as freelance VFX and compositing artist in advertising you mostly need AE or Nuke, resolve/fusion is rare. but it might change. i am trying to use resolve for the whole workflow in my company but VFX is regularly a problem. I then use AE and render out stuff with alphachannel and go back to resolve... but coming to think of it most stuff we get delivered in AE is motion graphics, but also VFX. and i know quite a few AE freelancers who have lots of VFX work in advertising - and a lot of fusion youtube videos are also about mograph;-)
@rano123212 жыл бұрын
@@jochenv1 After effects is mostly popular among small studios and freelancers as I mentioned in my previous comments. Since you mentioned "the industry" that's why I said almost all the professional VFX artists working in Hollywood movies and Tv shows are using Nuke. Most big VFX studios run Linux and none of the Adobe stuff run on Linux, but nuke and Fusion does. The current popularity of Fusion has gone down in the last decade but Fusion has been around for longer than Nuke. It was used in over 1000 movies and Tv shows and Games when Nuke was only an in house tool for digital domain and when other studios were using Shake and some Flame. After Nuke became industry standard Blackmagic bought fusion but probably the biggest reason why Fusion didn't become Industry standard is because it was only supported on windows and it was the only composting software that has full GPU acceleration a decade ago. That's why I said good luck finding job in the VFX industry with after effects because none of the VFX studios who work in movies and tv shows use After effects. The people who professionally use after effects are freelancers and indie studios and motion graphics artists. And coming from after effects, Fusion is miles better for professional quality VFX, the built in tools are good enough for most job and anyone getting started in VFX, I'd highly recommend Fusion over after effects.

yeah that is the big thing I'd like them to add. there are some clever work-arounds that I might share soon for word-by-word animation. the basic transform option handle it alright but stuff like opacity still relies on that shading tab which runs letter-by-letter

Hey Patrick, I got a very important info for you. This could potentially help thousands of people to succesfully switch from adobe to davinci. Also if you could somehow fill this market Gap, Even adobe after effects couldn't easily fulfill this issue right now. I think you are the only one who can do this. I have asked 100s of after effects users about why they don't want to switch to fusion, All of them told me this. Most of them are working with youtubers who demand A particular type of motion graphics(this type is the most popular yet no one(including you ) made any tutorials on davinci resolve yet ;( This particular type of motion graphics is everywhere on youtube and trending and everyone want to do it and seriously everyone want to do it but no one really makes any tutorials on this. How can i show you the type of thing i'm explaining? is there any way i can contact you and send over the videos of motion graphics i'm describing? Ps: if you can make a plugin or preset for this motion graphics, People will stand in line to buy it from you. it is that trending right now. It will save Thousands of hours for creators and editors.
