Interestingly, Shayne is mostly right about the Titanic. The man who was meant to be in charge of lookout on the Titanic was replaced at the last second, and went home the day of the voyage with the key to the cupboard where they kept the binoculars in his pocket. There was no backup key, and so the binoculars were never even used. This contributed to the Titanic striking the iceberg, as the lookouts literally couldn't see far enough to give a good enough warning for the ship to turn.

Around like 8:25 Shane mentions the binoculars that weren't available to the lookouts. He was close to the truth, they were locked in a locker of a guy who would have been lookout but got kicked off the crew of the Titanic. That guy left the binoculars in his locker and the crew couldn't find the binoculars because they were in his locker and he told no one about it.

I know this is random but Shayne was 100% correct about the Titanic stuff he was saying, the crew didn’t have the keys to the locker which held the binoculars, and that’s why the guys up in the crows nest struggled to see the iceberg in time before the ship struck it! Didn’t think I’d be commenting a Titanic related thing on one of these videos haha 🤣
