....and of course they don't mention the one thing most people would use other than alcohol, hydrogen peroxide... not a good idea to use that either

Should only be used when INFECTION is present.. not when a fresh wound has occured

I don't know, I think I trust what my grandpa would do. He would pour rubbing alcohol then he'd get a paper tower with electric tape. The man never got infections or got sick. The man was tough and lived to 98.

Hate to say it but anecdotes are not good evidence. You're right that it works to stop infection, but it does damage tissue as well. We now know that it's best to use soap and water. On deep wounds avoid getting the soap in the wound and just use it on the skin while rinsing the wound with water.

I’ve done this so often. Only just occurred to me to look up if it’s even safe. Turns out, it wasn’t. I hope my wound ends up healing.
