The acoustic version of this is so much better than the full band version. All he needs is an acoustic and his voice to be at his best. Amazing. So happy to hear this song stripped down. Beautiful video as well. ❤️

This version is absolutely fantastic. i think the only thing that would make the full band version better is if there wasnt so much high piercing sounds during the chorus. but i love both versions. It's just a good song, and he's a good musician

Its awesome indeed. I wont say better than the full band cuz for me its a different thing, and its very cool and powerful with electric guitar and drums. but for personal taste, yea I like this better! On kexp he said he wrote it only with a guitar, so maybe thats why we like it better

The duet with Phoebe Bridger is fantastic as well, I love all 3 versions. When I hear this version, I miss the band coming in hard on the chorus, when I hear that version I think of how great it sounds stripped down.

adamgore1 omg yes! Looks like a really old J45. Could be a "true vintage" new one though.
@adamgore17 жыл бұрын
I think its an old one the newer ones have a headstock insignia that this one is lacking it looks like a ribbon with "only a gibson is good enough" on it id say its an older one it has an interesting sunburst on it

oh... cool. Thanks for the info. This guy seems to play a lot of different guitars and they all seem to fit my taste perfectly.

yah he used to play an equally beautiful martin though this one has a much bigger sound to it

othing ever comes like it did when you were in it Just a memory of a kid, just a washed out finish Just a pain-in-the-ass Johnny Cash middle finger No shooting up drugs, no quitter is a winner Nothing ever comes like it did when you were in it Keeping nothing for yourself like a stone cold killer Now you're passing your people like a ship in the night Looking to every stranger for a fight Nothing ever comes, ever comes if you call it Choking like a dog, like a dog on a collar Open up your mouth, your mouth if you want it Listen for the sound, the sound, the sound is coming down Hoping that you like, that you like how you're living Relying on the kindness of strangers that you will be forgiven How many times, how many times will you shit on what you're given? How many times, how many times 'til you shut up and listen? Nothing ever comes, ever comes if you call it Choking like a dog, like a dog on a collar Open up your mouth, your mouth if you want it Listen for the sound, the sound, the sound is coming down Nothing ever comes, ever comes Choking like a dog, like a dog Open up your mouth Listen for the sound, the sound, the sound is coming down Nothing ever comes, ever comes if you call it Choking like a dog, like a dog on a collar Open up your mouth if you want it Listen for the sound, the sound, the sound is coming down Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Tash Neal / Kiyoshi Matsuyama / Chris St. Hilaire
