Emotional is difficult to discover these days, it's all beats & electronic auto tune. This is real art. Nothing come in between. Reminds me of Nick Drake.

It really shows when this song translates so well into several versions: - The big sound of the studio version - The full band live version at KEXP - The minimal version with Abby and Phoebe Bridgers - This acoustic version Mark of a great song.

Looking like Zlatan Ibrahimovic here. I saw him live last year, he opened up for City and Colour, and started with this song. I was right at the front. He was awesome! :)

joaquinbond007 I went to see City and Colour, but Noah had the audience in the palm of his hand. He was hypnotizing. One of the best performances I've ever seen.

His music is incredible! He deserves more views, indeed. Any of you guys know his ancestry thou’? He looks so exotic to me lol His last name is scandinavian, if i’m not mistaken, but he looks kinda croatian/italian to me. Just a silly curiosity.

Apparently Gundersen = warrior's son. Pretty sure he's from outside Seattle =) You'd have to ask him for specifics.
@aleksandarmarkoski36454 жыл бұрын
Gundersen is more last name from Iceland or scotland,i dont think he has nothing to do with croatia or italy,he definatly has look of southern with northern european roots.

Channeling a little Jeff Buckley on the first line of the chorus. Nice job, Noah.

There's some compression and reverb going on too, right?
@bobmallory6 ай бұрын
@@ixklaplaiucius Oh definitely. It was a while ago now but pretty good chance the vocal was recorded through a purple audio 1176, as well as additional compression in the mix, likely fab filter c2, and the reverb was probably also fab filter or maybe valhalla. Noah has incredible control over his voice though, of course, so that never hurts.

You'd think NPR could afford a better backdrop,tho' Noah is mighty handsome! great line:"think you'd hit a vein after so many misses" correct me if I am wrong.

This is why I have so much antipathy toward both the industry as a whole and "music fans". This dude's been hustling and paying his dues for the last like 8/9 years and for as talented as he is, he's got little to show for it. Meanwhile, guys like Ed Sheeran are taking recycled melodies and making millions with the help of 12+ other songwriters. And the "fans" who'd rather rip the music than support the artist by buying the records. Saw this dude last summer and was blown away. Such a sad state the industry is in these days.

Aaron Henry Sheeran's been sued once or twice for stealing songs. And i guarantee he's got a team of song writers writing with him.
