I think you need to have her watch this video, and maybe the other two Noah did with his mom before. Karen is the kind of mom we all should have - open minded, understanding, caring, accepting, loving. Luke, you are who you've always been. Your mom didn't lose ANYONE anymore than she lost the child who was a child years ago but who is now a young adult. All you've done is evolve and grow in ways that allow you to be more true to yourself, to who Luke McDonald truly is, and who you really are is a good, caring, conscientious, thoughtful person with a big heart. Your mom needs to do some growing and evolving herself so she can see you as you ARE, NOT how SHE wants you to be. She comes off as selfish, self-pitying and shortsighted, not to mention pretty narrow minded. Your mom has issues that she needs help to resolve. Do you still live with her? When I didn't want to get dressed in girl's clothes my parents yelled me or beat me until I put them lol (like when I was still at the age where your parents lay out your clothes). But I did get my mom to buy clothes that weren't pink because I just would not wear them so that's nice. My mom's very accepting now though and feels sorry for what she used to do and I appreciate that

7:19 i feel like every parent should think like that. I had a very uncomfortable chat with my mom about my bisexuality at 13 when i wasn't ready. She's kinda okay about it and we've never really brought that up since, but i wish people in general understood the necessity of LGBTQ+ youth to stay in the closet. I didn't want to be outed (and i think it was my sister who did it). A lot of people in my life know i'm bi, but i've never actually come out myself and it upsets me so bad that some people just decided to take a choice that should be mine away from me. I'm very happy your mom is such a great individual ❤️
