I don't believe her being a TERF is a recent thing;she just didn't start making comments until the past couple of years. The reason I believe this has to do with the pen name she chose for her adult mystery series, Robert Galbraith. I believe she chose that name because she is a follower of a doctor named Robert Galbraith Heath who promoted conversion therapy/torture among other horrible things. Pretty big coincidence if this is not where she came up with the pen name many years ago. The first book in that series was published in 2013.

I also think her transphobia goes wayyyyy back. I recently skimmed through some of the Harry Potter books because one of my friends (who happens to be trans and used to be a huge fan as a child) has them, and one of the notable details I found to be consistent throughout the books is the way JK will give "negative" masculine descriptors to most female antagonists. Stuff like "She grabbed (insert object) with her huge, manish hands", "She was boyish", "She had a big square jaw", "She had a mustache", etc. Just a very odd detail that, knowing what we know about her now, is not all that surprising.

Stating biological facts about gender isn’t being a transphobe. It’s pointing out reality and misusing the word ‘phobia’. If you want to become trans as an adult, I support your right to do that. And would be totally comfortable associating with you. But, you’re not a biological woman, or biological man. You’re trans. This is a biological fact as expressed by every cell in your body which if you’re a biological male contains an X and a Y chromosome. If you’re a biological woman your cells contain two X chromosomes. That’s a fundamental biological fact and difference that can’t be erased by today’s technology.
@ambercastillo78638 ай бұрын
They know that. No trans person is claiming they are a biological anything. They say themselves that they are trans literally ALL the fucking time. The only reason as to why they emphasize their identity as either male or female is because they don't want to be constantly reminded about the fact that they're trans. Trans people are people, they're fucking human beings. So why would they simply want to be reminded of them being trans when they just want some form of acceptance? Sure, J.K Rowling stated facts, but she continues to go after trans people constantly, unprovoked and continues to spread hateful commentary toward that community. It's one thing to express your freedom of speech, it's another thing if you're being an asshole about it.

Transphobes never state f ate first of all, and the word is being accurately used in these instances. There’s no such thing as a biological man or a biological woman. Gender is a social construct, it’s not biological, sex is biological and the two things are not the same
@BlackRoyalty-hh8tb6 ай бұрын
No ones denying sex characteristics, but sex characteristics and someone’s gender are two different things. Being trans isn’t a choice, J.K Rowling is a transphobe, as are you
@JustBob-sw4rf6 ай бұрын
@@BlackRoyalty-hh8tb Gender is biological. You’re either born with two X chromosomes in every cell making you female, or you’re born with an X chromosome and a Y chromosome in every cell making you male. There are very rare mutations to that combination. This is why gender suppression therapy is required for the life of the trans individual. Modern medicine is fighting biological nature. Again, if a person wants to do that to themselves, in a free society they should be allowed to. But if you use those therapies, you’re a transsexual, not a man or a woman. I know that the medical industrial complex in their desire to generate massive transition therapy revenues has twisted our language around in recent years. But, the meaning of gender that has existed for the previous 100’s of years before the recent politicization and commercialization of the issue is the one that should be used.

Wish Trans people well in their journeys, as long as they aren't being pushed along it too early in life by a medical industry thats a bit too eager to start a process that's very difficult to reverse.

nobody is pushing people to transition there are multiple barriers in place and the wait lists in the UK are years long.

@@NOAHFINNCE Why are you lying? Have you seen the teachers and parents that push the agenda on their children?
@TomiThemself8 ай бұрын
@@LameBoyIee Why are you lying? I still haven't seen any teacher do that. Whenever transphobes point out to such teacher, it's just a teacher respecting their trans pupils - the teachers are not saying "Be trans", the teachers are saying "Hey, if you are trans, I'll accept you, even if your parents won't", that's all. But for your standards, I guess even acceptance of trans pupils is "pushing" - I guess you want every trans person to be in a closet, until some random age, just so we're sure that they are "really trans and not cis" (which, as said in the video, can be potentially dangerous, as everybody cares about the "irreversible damage of HRT", but nobody cares about the irreversible damage of biological puberty). Kindly fuck off - you don't know how it feels to go through the wrong puberty, how painful it is; you don't know long the process is for transitioning (just as Noah wrote - in the UK, some trans people are waiting ten years for an appointment). Plus you are comparing the UK and US (I guess), which are two different countries (the UK's called the "TERF island" for a reason). Plus, the argument of "medical industry", doesn't work when in most of Europe (and also in the UK), medical care is socialised - if you care about the "medical industry", blame it on capitalism (lol), and not trans people!
@Phoenixx_0607 ай бұрын
you are very misinformed. the absolute YOUNGEST permanent thing a minor once they reach 16 is hormones. no one is giving hormones to any child younger than that. and even then it is so very rare to get access to hormones at that age. many adults are on a waiting list for YEARS before getting access to hormones. surgery is only available at the age of 18, again the line is very backed up and not many people have access to that. also it is very expensive. people always talk about how little kids are medically transitioning, very false, and how they can't give consent. what people dont talk about is how intersex babies who are taken into surgery to remove parts of their body that dont match their gender. they cannot give consent. the regret rate for medically transitioning is a WHOPPING MAX OF 2%. plastic surgery regret rates are so much more higher. no one ever talks about banning plastic surgery because of the regret rates? no, it's only because they are trans. leave them alone.
@alexelion70842 ай бұрын
Puberty is also a process that's very difficult to reverse. Also I think there are very few people pushing people to transition medically, especially not kids and especially not in the UK from what I've heard (I don't live there). There might be a few incidences of this happening, probably mostly private clinics or something like that, but that is far outweighed by people having to wait far too long
