It’s almost like gender is a social construct that doesn’t really mean anything 🤯 (I am agreeing with your comment btw if that’s not clear. :) Also, I am non-binary)

@Real Ray As a trans woman I totally get this. Sometimes I wear makeup and dresses and flounce around being all super fem, cause that's what makes me feel good that day. Another time I will wear dress trousers and s suit blazer and swing my shoulders a bit. Another day I will be in baggy jeans and a t-shirt digging over my allotment. Meanwhile, I (a cis female) take three different hormone supplements every day (estrogen for birth control and menstrual regulation, thyroid because thyroid deficiency, and serotonin supplements because spicy sadness). Hormones are naturally occurring in the body, and there are literally countless reasons for "pumping your body full of hormones" outside of HRT. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk :)

Yeah, maybe it's a proven fact that my family said I'd grow up to be gay(because I was amab and didn't like getting dirty and played with girls toys and boys toys). Came out to mom as gay; she supports it. But, I wasn't associating gay with liking men, it was with liking feminine. I later learned I was pansexual/bisexual. She supports it. Came out as trans, she said that "harming thy temple" is a sin against god. Felt disrespected and later couldn't handle the lack of support and attempted to die. Now she supports it because she educated herself. Uses my chosen name as well as they/them pronouns. A sin against god? Then, all those times women who were in power were sinning, those who ate shrimp were sinning, those who mastuuuuueeeered the art of sinning against god, those who mix fabrics, those who judge other people lest they be judged. I think it's safe to say sin runs through my blood through and through. So, I was fucked from the start. My mom didn't force(not completely) gender on me, but I could still tell by tv shows and movies and school and society that women behaved this way and men behaved that way. However, I didn't behave that way. Of course I knew there was nothing wrong with feminine/masculine things for boys/girls. I just didn't feel like a man that liked feminine or masculine, or a woman that liked feminine or masculine. I just felt like I liked feminine and masculine. men/women weren't correct terms for me. I didn't even know the term trans and non-binary until my senior year of high school, but I did know that I felt different long before that. Also, random fact, if what's true about clownfish, then Finding Nemo would have been entirely different and some would say "promote an agenda".

In regards to the 'titty talk' I literally started laughing at how relatable that is, When my mom talked to me about puberty I simply manifested that that would simply never happen and that kept me going until it did happen and I felt Ill, didn't know it was dysphoria at the time y'know because as a 13 year old I didn't know what the ---- that was and just thought that yeah, puberty makes you wanna bury yourself alive, this is normal. Anyway I really appreciate your videos as a transmasc person because honestly being an older teenager trying to go through the process of getting hormones has been hard.

When I was really young but first really began to comprehend how I was going to go through puberty, I was less anxious about it than I kept looking at the section of the Merck medical manual that my parents bought for me-I was *that* kind of weird kid-and fixating on the section on "pseudo-hermaphroditic" intersex conditions, thinking, "God, I wish that were me." That and the fact that I always thought about how I wouldn't have minded at all being a girl and went on to take *forever* to understand my own sexuality as a teenager should have raised all of the red flags, but sometimes I'm pretty clueless.

As a bi cis girl i wanna thank you noah I often present more masc, act/think more like a "boy" and don't always fit in I've always felt different from my peers and i used to think there was something wrong with me After discovering my sexuality i started questioning my gender identity and i found your videos (as well as other's) very useful, as i've been able to understand what gender dysphoria is and found out i never experienced it Now i know that i don't need to use different pronouns in order to be respected and that i do feel like a girl, but i'm not the kind of girl society would expect I simply like things that society pointlessly gendered as male stuff So, if it wasn't clear enough, funnily you're actually doing the exact opposite of trying to convert the lesbians Also, i've been listening to your music on repeat and your videos are really funny You rock it dude I hope i haven't made too many mistakes... As a cis female in my 30s who doesn't want kids I am always intrigued by the idea that trans people will regret transitioning due to wanting a family. Like the idea that everyone will one day want children. Sorry people are so weird about your private life and your existence
@geminiwolf00773 жыл бұрын
@CoworkIt Self harm? Dude, I'd rather change my sexual organs and have titties than when that time I cut myself on the arm when everything externally and internally was too overwhelming and I tried to off myself with my antidepressants because if I didn't love myself and my family and mom didn't love me for me, then I was utterly worthless. How about all those intersex infants that have unnecessary gender reassignment surgery? They're perfectly healthy, but because doctors don't know what to do with them, they surgically shape the sex to fit the false gender binary. And, that leaves a lot of intersex children to grow up and go through a puberty that isn't normal for typical binary genders, so of course they're gonna be psychologically affected by this. A lot of intersex people are "lucky" to never know they're intersex. Or, when they're told, they're told to keep it a secret and to be ashamed of it. So, if you should fight against regretting surgeries fight for the people who've actually not had that choice in the matter. That they haven't had that freedom to regret. If I had learned I was intersex, I would feel angry that someone operated on my body without my sayso. You can't 100% know if someone will regret a decision. I mean, people get tattoos and boob jobs without a doctors note. My mom regretted having me only one time, and that was the day 9/11 happened. She never once regretted her decision. Heck, she was irresponsible and got pregnant, but she made a choice and stuck by it. She made an irrational decision, but stuck with it and hadn't regretted it, and she's cisgender, I'm not. So, why ain't I afforded the same "irrational" choice? Just because you wouldn't see it worthwhile, doesn't mean that's the only right way to be someone. What about the cisgender women and intersex people who don't get pregnant or have children? So, they're less women/intersex? So, I'm less? There was a time where my sexuality was doubted. That "you hadn't slept with a guy yet". Okay, I liked women and men, I've slept with a woman, that doesn't mean I'm straight. I mean, being exposed to all cisgender and heterosexual shit didn't change my gender identity or sexuality, I just saw that my gender identity and sexuality differed. Then I found people like me and felt loved and accepted. You shouldn't care about how other people treat their bodies. I'm not gonna tell a cis woman she can't get a boob job or hysterectomy. My female cousin got a boob job and is bisexual and cisgender. My mom had a hysterectomy and is cisgender heterosexual. Do both of those things make them less of a woman? No. If I'm not doubting their sexuality and gender identity, why is everyone doubting mine? It's bigotry, because the same could be said for colored bathrooms. "Only whites in here" Gender segregation is a form of bigotry. Men telling women what they should do with their bodies is misogyny and mansplaining. I mean, I'm 99% sure I'm nonbinary. On a bottle of hand sanitizer, it cleans 99% of germs. But, I guess because of that small percent, hand sanitizer is useless. There are different cultures where my identity exists in different words. Cultures which WEREN'T ruined by colonization. People like me were once treated as gods or something to be celebrated. How come we've fallen so far?

I've always known I don't want kids. I've been revisiting this thought throughout my life and making the evaluation that lead me to the permanent decision of never having kids wasn't something that happened overnight. Yet, my uncle and his wife who have 3 kids together DEADA$$ were like "how do you even know if you haven't tried it?". They were LITERALLY urging me to make this VERY serious decision that involves MY LIFE *AND* THE LIFE OF ANOTHER HUMAN BEING just to CHECK if it's what I want. They were APPALLED that I was absolutely certain where I want to take my life (I was 25 when we had the conversation) and even pulled the symbolic immortality bs. My uncle straight up told me that if I don't procreate, it's like humanity dies and everything humans have achieved was going to crumble into nothingness. My mom (his sister) was trying to softly convince them my decisions should be mine alone, and while she wasn't too happy about them, she understands it's my choice and it SHOULD be my choice, and no shame should influence it. I actually didn't know what to say to them, I just sat there and listened to their monologues about how they supposedly know what's better for me than I do... the 25 year old adult.

@CoworkIt Ah yes, maybe I should also listen to him when he says he knows what's better for humanity, which includes the elimination of an entire race, looking down on race mixing. I should also exclude all the times he has been a complete wooden philosopher saying the dumbest, most shallow sh*t when considering whether or not he knows what's better for me than I do. I'm smarter than both him and you, and no matter how many times I prove it, it won't matter because people like y'all lack the ability to comprehend it. It's REVOLTING to push someone to make a life choice they are extremely adamant they don't wanna make, ESPECIALLY when it includes a child. No, he doesn't know better than me and the mere fact he nonchalantly equates procreation to immortality makes him psychologically f*cked by definition. Our opinions are not equal. It's not hard to understand.

It's pretty inspiring as a lesbian with a lot of self-worth issues + internalized homophobia.

The hate to small hands!! the one that is like "so sad he'll never attain what he is seeking" immediately struck me as projection. they're focused on the ephemeral joy that trans people have from their successes in transition, they point out that transition is not something we can do as a source of continuous joy - but they don't understand that it's still necessary so we can pursue and experience the same joys as everyone else. a person who does not understand you need to improve your life to reach your goals is exactly the kind of person who is failing all of their goals

Also, I have never tried Spotify or Apple Music, so I have bought all of the Noah Finnce songs and videos on the iTunes music store. That includes "parents" and "Asthma Attack". I will fly from the USA to Britain to see some NoahFinnce concerts once the virus stuff dies down. I wonder what it's like to live in a body that you've always felt comfortable in, to have been able to have your hair and clothes how you felt comfortable having them as a kid because it fit the social norms and fit the expectations of your parents, to not have had your identity ignored for years and develop trauma from being forced to be someone you're not for the vast majority of your life and be expected to carry on and live life like a 'normal' person, to not be told to be grateful for the rights you do have and not complain about the ones you don't have because a few years ago you would've faced even more discrimination and in some countries you'd be stoned, to not be told you're overly sensitive when you don't laugh when cruel jokes are made by cis people targeting the identity you had a fight for years to be allowed to express because you were 'too young to know' or whatever other excuse (and you're still not accepted by a lot of people), to not be used as a scapegoat for other issues that have nothing to do with you, to not be on waiting lists for years so you can feel more comfortable, to not have not been allowed to have your clothes and hair the way you wanted for fear that you'd have been bullied but to have been bullied mercilessly because you didn't fit in and you couldn't explain why, to not be misunderstood by most people, to not occasionally mourn the happy, comfortable childhood you couldn't had if society and your parents had been open to the idea of changing a few words and a few clothes to make you comfortable instead of depressed, and to be able to exist and not have to justify your existence to other people lol, must be fun. Many of these things apply to other marginalized groups too, it's not just trans people, I'm sure neurodivergents, cis LGBQIA+ people etc etc have all experienced some of these things, so it's best to come together than to fight each other to try to gain acceptance from some other group by being a 'pick me'
