I hadn't seen 20 yet, so I'm watching right now. I like pausing it every so often to see what's behind you, who's in the room every few frames or what moves to a new spot. It's a lot more than just your face changing or growing up. Do you ever think much about the deeper level of connection you have with it because of that? Like the nuances of friends, places, girlfriends, apartments, that appear and then disappear? One thing I'm really proud of is how I've photographed almost everyone I know at some point. It doesn't matter to my work at all or to anyone else, but it's just this little thing that I know and feels special to me.
@NoahKalina22 күн бұрын
I think about it all the time and it makes me incredibly sad. Check out everyday.photo, and click the people tag. it's kinda cool. And yes, photographing everyone and anyone you meet is great, especially over time. I think it's hard for people (especially younger ones) to grasp the importance of that and how quickly it all goes by and how you wish there would have been more.

@@NoahKalina I've clearly never looked at your site :S RAD, I love that you have it organized like this! I have a party photo site from 2006-2017 where I tagged all my friends / gatherings / events etc. and it felt so good to have that catalogued and now I'm so grateful that I have it for me and for my friends. I also still get an email every six months or so from someone I don't know looking for a photo that they knew I took of them at a party waaaay back. I know what you mean about wishing there was more. I finally put a few years of prints into albums and immediately regretted kind of stopping documenting so much because work makes me put down my camera at home more and more.

This was really interesting. I think I remember first hearing about your project in like February 2007. It was just a small article in a silly summer publication of our local newspaper talking about your first video and how it went viral and all that. But I don't think I watched the video until several months later, like closer to a year later, I believe. So I guess I either completely forgot about it or I didn't find it THAT interesting at the time to bother to search for it 😂Btw, I've never watched an episode of the Hotline Show so far, so I don't know the rules regarding what to talk about or not, but I wanna know, if I ever call the line: are you not accepting questions about the Everyday project, then? Just to be clear, in case I misunderstood or not. I don't want to be annoying. P.S: I agree with you regarding that MAD article, I don't think it's funny at all. I get it that they're supposed to be sarcastic and "shocking" and all that, but imo those types of articles are supposed to be funny as well, not just being mean for the sake of being mean.
